Shadowstep and Prep need to rotate out

If Renathal was rotated because it “had it’s time”, then shadowstep and prep have way overstayed their welcome. They’ve been in the core set since the game launched, and every single rogue deck thats any good has had these cards in the deck. Why do we constantly have to sit and watch rogues play solitaire while they constantly bounce minions back to their hand, draw a bunch of cards, and put a bunch of minions on the board with no counterplay? Rogue games are just as bad as imbue hunter is right now.

that’s a super bad reply

Sure, what do you propose to take their place? No, really, you’re asking to remove 2 cards that keep the class remotely competitive, so what do you think they should add to replace them?

Play 100 games with shadowstep and prep in your deck.
People only see the upside of these cards and not the drawbacks. Not only do you have to use 4 deck slots to run them, they also literally do nothing by themselves.

Not to mention most of the cards they’re USED for aren’t worth the mana without them

Okd prep was even worse, because the card reduces 3 manas all rogue spells comes with “prep tax” and if you don’t draw prep you lose with overcosted cards in your hand, back then I wanted prep to disappears to remove all overcosted spells the class have because the card, but now it is fine.

You could just release similar effects that do something more flavorful. They got Web of Deception, that’s pretty strong and flavorful if you ask me.

They literally did this with Paladin about a year ago and everyone cheered for it.
But it’s different when it’s Rouge…

No.

In fact i would suggest to return wild growth and mana wyrm.
Class identity for everyone.

Lots of more problematic classes and decks right now, and you focus on Rogue? It has been tier 3-4 for many metas in a row now. No prep or shadowstep forces developers to print new more broken stuff for Rogue to keep up. Be careful what you wish for

Don’t know what meta you’re looking at currently. Bounce rogue is tier 2 in the current meta on hsreplay. Rogue is absolutely a problem because there’s absolutely no counter play to their solitaire bounce/prep/bounce gameplay that creates huge boards out of nowhere. From the start of the game rogue has abused shadowstep and many cards have had to be nerfed around it rather than just removing it from standard and allowing other playstyles to emerge.

Probably lost to the endless bounce/draw combo for early 8/8 20-cost minion

Never look at the front page. Rogue is the best deck in the meta. The tournament this weekend proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. In the final 8 in Americas the decks went undefeated for the entire round of 8 till the tournament was decided. Nobody playing it lost with it.

Hunter is just a massively polarizing deck to the game in general and Druid is the only real counter to the Hunter so naturally it’s going to sit at the top in the general meta. The problem is yet again…Cue the broken record…The vast majority of the general player base either hates or has no idea how to play Rogue correctly.
