If Benedictus rotates out… what will happen to Shadow Priest?
- Benedictus will be part of core Priest set?
- New ways to unlock Shadow mode?
- Shadow Priest will continue to exist without Shadow Mode?
- Something else? (Priest gets deleted, hype?)
Shadow priest is already dead now, doesnt need to wait for rotation.
That can change the next expansion/content patch.
Honestly, i dont believe that, how many archetypes blizzard designers abandoned already.
As soon as i saw aid station printed i knew, shadow priest is dead.
Saying that Priest lose Shadow support, is like saying Demon Hunter lose Fel or Hunter losing Secret support.
It may not be strong, but they’ll obviously support the Shadow aspect of Priest.
It’s worse than not strong, though. I can’t even find it on HSReplay’s list of priest decks.
I honestly hope this is the case, but only if they can figure out what the heck they want to do with Priest first. I think Shadowform is a great idea for all styles of play but they desperately need to figure out what they actually want for the class first.
Like all archetypes (especially Priest archetypes), it will die until Blizzard decides to support it again for an expansion. Between expansions with a bunch of garbage cards supporting whatever the them of the expansion may be that can’t be pieced together into a functional deck.

Deathrattle Priest

How many of these archetypes saw introduction with an expansion but didn’t get support before cards started to rotate out again.
Priest identity is archetype-confusion.
I speculate that there’s no one in charge of this class that stays with it for very long since there’s no real direction to it.
Even when a new archetype is being pushed it has NEVER seen the amount of support that say MechMage received this expansion.
