Seriously Rogue cheats the game

In this era where battle cry is king, Rogue has too many cheats to re-play Tess or Astalor or any of numerous stolen powerful legendaries (by plagiarize / burglar/ mix tape)
2x 0 mana shadow step, 2x 1 mana breakdance, copy either with shadow of demise, bounce around … cheat death triggers shadow step.

I don’t understand the mana cheat (also preparation or trickster) and repeat of powerful minions like colossals (titans soon) or Tess who repeats all of the above.

Countering the cheats once or twice is difficult but OK, but not 4,5,6 times …
it’s feels bad man with no consistent counter play. I don’t get it.

  1. Obligatory “Rogue is one of the weakest classes right now.”

  2. Shadowstep and similar bounce effects are always one Battlecry or Combo minion away from making Rogue extremely strong. Currently Rogue has only one thing worth bouncing (Astalor) and it requires 10 mana, which is why Rogue is pretty weak. Asking Rogue to survive until 10 mana for Astalor is a tall order after all of their tools from Year of the Gryphon rotated out.

  3. This is why I’m wary of the new Rogue Titan.

I will say Shadowstep needs a rework each and every expansion released since it only increases in power with each new expansion. I will also say Rogue isn’t strong now, but it usually ends up being a tier 1 deck by the end of the year given all its tools, then its back to T2.

I’ll keep saying it, tho, shadowstep needs some attention. Not a BAN, some sort of rework.

Shadowstep to 2 mana works nicely, IMO. Way too powerful a card for 0 cost. In fact. Outside a few exceptions, I don’t think cards should cost 0.

I would actually say nerf the mana reduction on the card it targets. The bounce effect is cool and i would hate to see Rogue lose that. Reducing the cost on the minion is just absurd though for a zero cost card.

I think the card is great flavor for Rogue, but as you said, the value of the card is pretty high for a zero cost card within metas increasing in power creep each expansion.
