That interaction with duplicate is annoying, should duplicate the first minion that dies, not the minion first played, cannot play around AOE.
can you give the specific situation? when 2 minions die at the same time then the first minion that was played is duplicated
Afternoon Peverin
It an occurs all the time with AOE, i have proof from a youtube Video.
The Manic Soulcaster was played 1st, before the Arcane Artificer, a random AOE was casted by Yoggbox the Soulcaster was duplicated instead of the Arcane Artificer, happens all the time. Though Life total of minions are the same happens when AOE is played.
@ Fast forward to 12:01
i dont get what the issue is. manic was played before the artificers, both died and manic was duplicated because it was played before the artificers. which is how that interaction workds
In a situation where an AOE is cast, where the smaller minion should be subjected to the Duplicate effect due to Volcano, or Agatha Scheme, it still register the first card play, If it makes sense.
why should the smaller minion be duplicated when they all die at the same time?
True, I look at it like this you can deal 4 health to a minion quicker than you can deal 5 health damage, by AOE,
In the Event when a Volcano is played, though the smaller minion dies first it still registers the first minion played.
Things in Hearthstone are often animated in sequence so we can see what is happening, but they are still considered to be simultaneous. Volcano would be one of these, it shows damage one at a time, but really the way the game considers it is that all damage is dealt simultaneously. So if two minions die from Volcano, then Duplicate would trigger for the minion which was played first.
Duplicate says “when a friendly minion dies”, and death processing is done after all the damage is dealt, as evidenced by the fact that mortally wounded minions stay on the board until Volcano is done animating.
