Sargeras Winrate

Is actually insane. I think it needs to stop giving taunt and should start destroying minions instead of making them disappear. At the very least make the imps gain +1 health since 4 health threshold is way too much for basically any deck to really get through reliably.

To be honest lately I don’t even care when my opponent plays Sargeras, even when I’m playing Odyn warrior because you can still get through the taunts and kill them, but you only have about 3 turns to do so or else you run out of clears.

My biggest problem with Warlock right now is mainly just overall Symphony value, the boards of 7/7’s from turn 4 onwards and maybe most frustrating of all being Doomkin. The fact that Warlock now has access to ramp while simultaneously removing your opponents mana shuts down way too many decks.

Yes, I think too that Symphony of Sins is a bigger problem than Sargeras… It is enough for them to burn away enemies most important cards and it is already a lose… That card should destroy also the Warlock’s top 6 cards… They wouldn’t use it so bravely thats for sure…

Which win rate are you looking at specifically? It’s not the highest played win rate, it’s not the highest drawn win rate, it’s not the highest mulligan win rate either.

There are other cards in other decks, including Warlock ones, that have a higher win rate.

Dar’Khan Drathir outperforms it. Let’s talk about that one instead? Because it’s a 9 mana deal 12 to the face combo that ends a lot of games for me.

Well, I can’t see the premium stats, but in control lock trash ranks, Sargeras’ played win rate is pretty absurd, and far beyond any other card.

It’s probably a bit overtuned. I think the twisting nether effect should probably be adjusted.

Oh, he’s talking about Control Warlock, I just assumed it was Thaddius Warlock because that’s the better performing deck.

If it doesn’t have a high WR across the other decks that are using it, does that really matter? Look at Control Warrior’s win rate cards, specifically Odyn and Heavy Plate - equally as strong as Sargeras, but does that make them broken?

Or look at Rainbow Mage with Sif.

If 69% win rate on Sargeras as an issue, where’s the complaint about Sif at 84%?

I guess I’m not 100% sure what stat specifically OP is looking at that they have an issue with.

For me, as I’m playing the deck currently, I think the real issue is Symphony. Everything in it was built around 6. 6 mana for everything to have a 6 effect. Either nerf the other effects down to 5 or move symphony back up to 6.

Sargeras is usually the winning hit if you get it with Symphony and not playing it alone for the full 9.

More garbage trolling from those Warlock has defeated recently /yawn.

I’d generally also say yes on that one. I’m not a fan of single card win cons that you kind of have to win before they happen. The deck ends up being “balanced” more because the card doesn’t always happen, less because it’s a good play experience when it does.

If a card is going to be that good, it should require way more hoops than just playing it on curve.

that location played in curve along with anubisath makes it harder to beat

i know people mentioned the location before but lately there is too much focus on sargeras but for me i think forge of wills the reason i lose more games vs this deck not sargeras

I think in general it’s a bit dangerous to nerf early game stuff with the goal of making overpowered late game cards less playable.

Just let the deck do powerful things, and fix the late game dumb thing.

We just went through this with hunter, where they avoided nerfing the double Krush waaay too long, and by the time they did, so many other cards had been nerfed that the big beast package completely died off.

Just another topic trying to find a reason to justify nerfs on Warlock. Still just asking to have another class become the next “I see it every game plz nerf”.

Nerfing Warlock won’t make any of you happy. Hunter just got nerfed, why aren’t we still happy about that? Because this forum is only for asking for nerfs, never for being happy.

how can you even think on comparing animal companion to sargeras ? did you forget how much damage hunter could do on the same turnt hey played it ?

That’s going to pretty much forever be the topic on a forum of a competitive game with less that perfect balance and frequent balance updates.

Your hero portrait doesn’t need to explode for the game to be lost.

I don’t know, this forum is particularly good at whining and coming up with conspiracy theories on why they can’t play like Thijs.

In my 30 years of gaming, I’ve never seen a community come up with so many reasons why it’s not them, it’s the game.

The game balance is definitely a part of it. To some degree it does limit what you can effectively play, and if that excludes your favorite deck/archetype, it kind of does suck.

People tend to overstate how much it’s external forces causing their losses, although I can’t really blame them too much, as it takes a really high skill level to accurately tell the difference between an unbeatable play you should shrug off and one that if you had done something differently 3 turns ago could have been handled.

What balance do people expect?

At legend for example, there are 11 t2 decks that are within a % or 2 WR of each other with only Rogue at T1. 12 extremely playable decks seems quite reasonable to me at the “top” level of play.

The difference between Sargeras compared to Sif is (1) warlock is a much better performing class in general (and I made a thread suggesting for nerfs – I think Sif should reasonably be 7 mana), (2) Odyn is the win condition for warrior whereas warlock has ways to win outside of Sargeras (Odyn was also on the list of cards I said should be nerfed). They’re comparable but they’re not terribly comparable.

Surely you don’t think nerfing a single class is going to suddenly make someone’s favorite playable.

Besides, look how popular Warlock is. You really going to tell me Warlock isn’t a favorite for a lot of players?

This is pretty true. I’ve never seen so many logical fallacies and flawed thinking in any gaming forum than from what I see here. It’s mind boggling.

My recent thread with pure HSReplay data on every single class got deleted and me muted for 24 hours because it got reported so many times for trolling. Take that as you will.
