I have never written a salt thread before now, but after getting a fat load of garbage after opening 76 packs, I just no longer am excited about playing this expansion.
I was looking forward to it for weeks, thinking about decks, hoping for any useful legendaries, epics, anything… I just sat there after opening all those packs, and felt so disappointed, I was actually kind of sad. I felt foolish for ever being so excited in the first place.
I know there is always my Wild decks that were fun to play, but I have been playing them so much, it’s just not that fun anymore. I think one or two cards from what I got this time will be added to those decks… and I had to craft them myself. Daily quests are going to feel like a chore.
I wanted to just get this off my chest. I am sorry to clog up the forums with more negativity, but just… ugh.
Try counting your dust or potential dust from unused SoU cards. Then use it to imagine which golden deck you can use it to craft. It will help a little.
I feel your sentiment, I am not excited at all for this expansion as it seems lazy to me. Nothing really “new” to me. I usually play off meta janky decks that are fun to me and keep me in the rank 5 to legend range but I too have played less and less every month because of how boring it can get.
I was hoping it would be fun at most for a month after the expansion release but them allowing all these streamers to start playing ahead of everybody ruined the surprise feeling as every and their mothers are playing the exact same cookie cutter decks those people were playing b4 the release so any notion of surprise or amazing was far gone before the expansion was launched (for me anyways).
I am already bored of the expansion and waiting for the next one.
There are already a ton of unique decks rolling out.
You keep latching on the prerelease and how it spoiled stuff. But thats not reality. They all played decks that were ultra obvious and did mostly what we thought they would.
Post release…suddenly stuff like scales paladin show up. Hasnt even been a week man, jesus. Theres plenty of creativity to be had and zero chance those day 1 quest decks you saw on prerelease end up as the best deck.
Now…if you wanted to complain about how crappy it is that warrior is already posed to be dominating another set…yeah. Feel that.
At rank 5 I have yet to see something new or original in fact I had 4 back to back games against the same shaman deck, ran into bomb warriors bc that’s fun, token druids, same hunters as before, cc mage.
I have yet to see anything new but I have played hearthstone long enough to know the pattern. Eventually there will be roughly 7 to 10 decks most people will play and that will be the same for around 3 months until a nerf/buff happens or the next expansion is released.
They keep recycling old themes or effects from previous sets, that’s why feel they took the ‘safe’ or lazy route. If the next expansion is called ‘Mean Streets of Karazhan’ I would not be the least surprised.
Agree in eventually I just don’t think I’ve hit that yet. I’ll bring MR Quest Priest or Aggro Warrior to 5 tonight and mess with Control Priest, Shaman, and Warlock.
I like Quests but overall I do agree Lackeys and reborn were uninspired. Less so annoyed on Quest and Reno because they’re kind of iconic to HS like Planeswalkers to Magic.
You must have gotten the full Brian Kibler package. Try it out, sometimes playing memes can be fun.
I got a Golden Octosari myself. I am memeing it up with Quest Hunter, my free Quest. But best of all, my terrible transformation hand gifts Shaman deck is 3-0 against Big Priest while losing to pretty much everything else.
You will see new decks at rank 5 because people can experience new decks without dropping. Once you’re above rank 5 it will be the best decks played only, mostly control warrior.
opened my packs with gold, laughed and havent played a single game yet. i probably wont. i think im done with this game. the posts and reviews ive read and the videos ive watched made me realize this garbage isnt even worth trying.
i was awarded the Paladin quest… and hory shiet i’m having more fun making it work than I’ve ever had in hearthstone. it’s such an underrated deck and only really gets trounced by shaman (sometimes) and some warrior decks. i’ve yet to run into a druid, but i hear they’re out there
