I’m playing a Reno-Galakrond deck but the pressure of quest-pirates warrior is just so enormous that even if I get to reno they will still tempo outvalue me with ehm… that thing.
Either way, Anyone has some ideas, how to make Galakrond rogue work in Wild atm?
You can certainly win some Ranked games with a slow combo type deck, but more often than not the high levels of aggression available in Wild make it hard to play anything that wants to go at a slower pace.
If your deck is good against Pirate Warrior, it’s likely bad against Odd Quest Hunter and vice versa. And those two decks are the top tier in Ranked Wild at the moment.
Not only are you playing a bad highlander archetype (rogue) you are also playing Galakrond, which hasn’t been played in years except maybe in the spectral OTK decks.
And you are questioning why you are having a rough time ? Simple answer… you are playing a bad archetype.
There’s no way you can really make it ‘‘viable’’ if you face a lot of pirates, evenlock and quest hunters.
If you want to play it, you’ll have to accept being the underdog in every matchups.
Not sure at what rank you are playing it, but the closer to Legend you’ll be (D4-Legend) the more difficult it’ll be for you because everyone are playing those 3 decks.
If you are already struggling below D5, forget it.
The powerlevel is sadly so absurd in wild, that galakrond decks aren’t playable. At this point, GR is not even a tier 4 deck!
You probably already use the crap vs pirates if not, you definitely should.
No matter what galakrond deck you are using, they are all too weak against current questlines deck.
They were weak even when they were first released, now they are completely outdated.
As someone said before me, play it in causal: there is no point in fighting fire with paper, but in casual there are other people who play with paper as well.
You may have better luck with the consistency of a non-Reno version built for a faster board. The 2/1 combo pirate that pings, fox, and other stuff that can hit the board fast and help you contest.
Maybe even tech in the beast who eats pirates.
But you’re still probably going to lose a lot. Wild is just too busted right now.
Here is my attempt at rogue highlander, but no galkarond:
Like someone said, rogue is not the greatest highlander class. Compare the rogue deck to the demon hunter deck below it and you can see the demon hunter is superior. Either way, if you like these type of decks, you have to be agressive in the current meta and you have to try and play it as a tempo deck. I got really hooked on these decks for awhile
Im stuck one whole section lower, I believe thats platinum, so platinum 5.
I got some wins in with dirty rat+coerce vs quest warior and rogues, and then also in combo with shadowstepping Reno.
But all in all it’s been pretty crappy, and I guess I am ready to give up on it.
Might play the ‘standard’ game then, which I wanted to avoid as it didnt look enjoyable to me.
