Unfortunately, as it has done in the past for me, when sets rotate to wild, the usual dust refund themselves over. A game mechanic indeed, however it hasn’t worked for me since the rise of shadows expansion. So! Previously I asked a gm and he looked at my stuff and went “huh, that’s not supposed to that, here ya go” and that was that. I also stopped playing and collecting a lot of cards like I did with rise of shadows, but this time with barrens, stormwind, and alterac valley going into wild, and no dust with me having a good amount of cards in there, well, here I am asking if it could be fixed again. Here and hoping
Why would you get a dust refund for cards rotating to wild?
As far as I’m aware, the only dust “refunds” related to card rotations are for cards moving to the Hall of Fame, which hasn’t happened for a while, so … I’m not sure what you are even asking for.
Can you give an example of a specific card that you were expecting a dust refund for, and why?
I honestly thought that’s how it worked, it’s been… way too long since I have played last, still, why not though? Or the getting half off dusting cards instead of fourths?
The cards are still valid in Wild. Full dust or even half dust refunds for cards rotating to wild would probably cut too far into Blizzard’s profitability because people would be able to craft complete new expansions every year for Standard without having to pay anything.
Blizzard generally offers dust refunds only for unexpected/surprising changes.
Older expansions rotating to Wild is completely normal and routine. It is not surprising.
