I am a big rogue player (legend ofc) and the current state of rogue is so bad imo. The fact that you can only play 2 decks that are super toxics : weapon and griftah. Let me explain: weapon rogue is just some stupid aggro deck were you don’t have to think and you just enrage the opponent. And griftah… oh griftah… At first I found the deck super cool and actually thought it was difficult but not at all. Once you understand the pattern (wich doesn’t takes much time) it is really basic and all games look the same. Most decks give that feeling but rogue… I mean common. Rogue for the last couple of months was this class that players enjoyed the most because it was one of the only class we’re not all games look the same , still being super strong. I am talking about the mining rogue of course. And now it is not even a thing. I am not talking about wishing well neither… Blizzard let the boredom to the other class and let rogue be fun (and challenging) again.
Also the legendary that came up in rogue this extension… can we talk about that ? How slow they are… the design is fun, don’t get me wrong but compared to all the others cards that came up in the other class this is extension, it is sure they can’t make the cut on any deck. Maestra is used in pain rogue but not even for it’s effect (I mean only for the tourism keyword). Just some ideas: make Eudora 1 mana cheaper, and make that the quest finish when you play 2 cards and not 3. Maestra too could be cheaper and have better stats.
I know not many people will see this and blizzard doesn’t actually read theses post but I just need to let this frustration go out in some way. For those who saw this let me know if you feel the same way or if you think my judgement is biased.
A situation is that you are an extreme minority and you don’t matter as much as other players; namely: you play rogue too much and you have become extremely good with rogue; most others are really worse than you even when they are in the same rank as you on the ladder.
That means if others with the same Rank as you play rogue they will usually lose to you; the decks are not balanced around “theoretical power”; they are balanced around who plays them best and they know if a deck has a steep learning curve it causes abrupt win rate jumps.
I call it a “situation” and not a problem because it’s subjective; Blizzard appears to choose to design in that short-term way; another way of thinking would be to give players the time to become experts on a deck even if it has a steep learning curve.
Alright that makes sense, but I don’t feel that (again) the deck is hard to play (for the majority of legend players. And you can at least agree with me that the new rogue legs suck
While blizzard may miss you I’m sure your local casino is happy to have you back at the slot machines.
I suppose its not necessarily your fault that blizzard made rogue cater to the slot machine players but I think rogues would be done a service if they moved away from that (and sonya as a mechanic).
I think it would be fun if they built a unique rogue deck around the bounce mechanics by introducing cards that had ‘when this minion takes damage (effect)’ but the development team is devoid of interesting ideas.
I’m in favor of rogues this time because everything that buffs it benefits paladin, but you’re right,
the complaint seems out of place because there are others that have spent entire seasons dead like warrior…
