Ok seriously this game that I’ve spent money on is unfortunately just a very pretty roulette wheel.
The random elements in this game have just become utterly ridiculous. I play a game where both my opponent and I use Yogg… his turn it gives him decent stuff and then on my turn it gives him a Titan?
WTF
Like seriously I instantly lose because this card gives the opponent a better card which can wreck my entire board
This isn’t fun Blizzard, these cards aren’t fun. No wonder nobody watches Hearthstone tournaments anymore, seeing some person top deck or letting the computer decide who wins?!
i have the opposite take. the last thing i would ever care about is a tournament. copy and paste meta decks where winning is the top priority is the worst way to play ccgs. boring mechanics where there is no unpredictability that you call rng is what would drive me away from a game. a pretty roulette wheel would be preferred to that. the whole reason to play a game like this is to be creative and have fun with the various cards. trying to be a “competitive hs player” if such a thing even exists to me is ridiculous. who can’t copy and paste a deck and play it? try having fun with the game. you might lose OMG!
Another homebrew super hero. It’s super funny you think in a COMPETITIVE mode, a meta will not form. If your homebrew played well and saw consistent success, eventually people would play it consistently and it would be meta. Every deck is a homebrew at some point, so get off your high horse especially when this wasn’t even the argument. RNG is the argument.
What exactly do you think RNG is???
A lot of people. The first deck I can think of off the top of my head is APM Priest with the 0/2 gnome. Not a lot of people knew how to navigate it and/or couldn’t handle the APM let alone do the math to know within the 1:15 timer they actually have lethal. Someone literally made a thing online to practice it. This deck was brought to tournaments, too, btw.
The thing that you don’t understand is that the algorithm that maximizes profits and stimulates an addictive sense of need for new purchases is… randomness. And it’s cheap to boot. There’s no need for these imaginary algorithms of yours.
Take out the words “does not” and you’re correct. Randomness is cheap and super effective at achieving the desired sinister results.
