Rise of the Mech QoL updates:

Apparently today’s update is also coming with a slew of QoL improvements and some bug fixes. The game no longer sending me back to the loading/home screen every time I disconnect is going to be fantastic, especially if I’m tabbing out to do something else in another window/app on my phone.

Check it out!

They’re adjusting the matchmaking so you face the same opponent and class less consecutively, particularly at low ranks. Prepare yourselves, more “matchmaking is rigged” posts incoming.

They will finally be right, let them have their moment.

Also big is offline mode for the collection. You can look at, create and edit decklists and such.

Gives me hope for solo adventures being offline…

Oh cool, that IS a great upgrade!

So what will the game do instead? Restart my phone? Or just re-install my OS without backing up any of my files?

I’ll expect a blog post or something about how this works. They gave very little insight into it on the update notes.

I thought there was supposed to be an event attached to the card changes, something to encourage trying the new cards out.

The new “Featured cards” tab is nice too.

" Fixed an issue that could cause Kabal Chemist to disconnect your opponent when played."
-Huh. Wonder what that was about.

" * [Mobile] Fixed an issue that could cause players to get duplicate season roll popups when relogging on a mobile device."

Thank you, Jeebus.

Stuck in main menu. Lol, I guess everyone’s jumped back in the game at the same time?

Unfortunately, there is a new bug that was introduced (and has been reported in the bugs forum). Lackeys are not being generated in arena. So if you do play arena, avoid drafting lackey creating cards or wait for the fix.

I got lucky to win a game before realizing that, despite having two lackey generating cards.

Just proves what we’ve known all along - matchmaking is rigged. It’s a nice change, though.

If so, it will offer nothing of substance. They will want it to be as murky and unexplained as possible.

You can’t take credit for an unreasonable belief once actual evidence presents itself and act like you knew it ‘all along’. (This also does not validate any claims of previous matchmaking manipulation since this is a new implementation, not an admittance of an old one).

As an example:

‘The warriors will win because they have yellow jerseys’

Does not matter if the warriors win, the reasons for that belief are still bad :stuck_out_tongue:

Same. It first said I had to wait approx. 2 minutes. OK, that’s fine. But when it apparantly found space for me, it just got stuck on the opening screen.

EDIT: and then I got kicked out for being timed out

What is this about facing less of the same class? Patch notes only say same opponent. Can someone point out what I am missing here? Just reread the patch notes and it doesn’t indicate class is a factor at all. Quote from the notes on Matchmaking-
"We’ve implemented a new feature to reduce chances of matching against the same player multiple times in a row. Some exceptions may occur when players have few matchmaking options near their rank.

Match quality has been improved for players in ranks 25 – 21, and they should now face more opponents of similar skill." Nothing about class frequency in there."

because ben brode admitting literally THAT is ignored by fanbois like you. you get kept near 50% win rate NO MATTER WHAT.

Any ranked ladder system’s goal is to rank and match players against opponents of equal skill.

Do you know what your winrate will be if you face opponents of equal skill?

50%

Do you not understand this?

And that is a complete lie that it makes sure it’s 50% no matter what, because plenty of people keep track of their Winrates and it’s not 50%.

If it’s above that, it means they are better than their opponents and is why they get stars.

If it’s below that, it means they are worse than their opponents and they will lose stars.

I honestly wonder if they do or not. To take a garden variety “no crap” statement like having a goal of 50% and then treat it like it is a nefarious statement and not literally the goal of ALL matchmaking systems indicates either extreme dishonesty or idiocy. As you climb in a matchmaking system you eventually hit people of the same skill, and that is literally how all systems work, yet these geniuses seem to think if they’re not pushing a 80% winrate to legend 1 something is holding them back other than players of similar skill. Higher rank=tougher competetion. There doesn’t NEED to be a rigged system for that to occur, regular matchmaking does that by default.

I swear on my life they edited this. It originally said “We’ve implemented a new feature to reduce chances of matching against the same player or class multiple times in a row. Some exceptions may occur when players have few matchmaking options near their rank.”

It may have been a misprint that they caught after we posted it.

We’ve been over this multiple times. The one (and only) quote you’ve ever procured about this was a comment on the MMR system. As you win more, you climb through the ranks and face more players who also win more. They’re more difficult than past opponents, so your winrate is going to go down. If it goes below 50 percent, you drop ranks and you face easier opponents, thus increasing your winrate. This goes back and forth until you have a winrate of approximately 50 percent.

This is nothing new, and it is nothing close to the rigging you’ve proposed. Get your head out of the gutter.
