Rewind/Ice Block in Wild

I think the Rewind/ Ice Block combo should be banned in Wild.
So many Ice Blocks should not be allowed.

What are the odds to get Iceblock out of infinitize?

You have 171 spells in wild, getting Iceblock out of 3 option. I would say it’s balanced and don’t need to get banned.

I am not a fan of this card, but not because it makes infinite iceblock secrets.

Pretty much exactly this. Nice math and thank you for the numbers.

I don’t know the odds, but I just played a guy who repeated ice block at least 4 times.
Edit: Begging your pardon. It is Rewind I’m disgusted with.

Rewind is a pretty disgusting spell. But here i thought mage would be a class Mal would speak positively about.

Rewind is fine, within limits.
Being able to play Ice Blocks repeatedly is no one’s idea of fair.
The textbook definition of uninteractive.

I miss the days of using Dr Booms boom bots to randomly make mages kill themselves on their own turn. Basically any strategy to lower the mages health as low as possible, pop the block, and make them die on their own turn.

Fatigue? Unlikely, but plausible.
A leper gnome on board when they need to board wipe you? Lovely chances.
How about abyssal curses?

I am ok with all of that. Where I take issue is when you can play multiple ice blocks repeatedly.
There are two in the game and it was sent to Wild for a reason.
Rewind makes the spell incredibly unfair.

so there is a deck running rewind and iceblock as the only spells in their decks… doesnt sound like a good deck

How does the combo go infinite?
If it just finds extra secrets, that’s always been an possibility.

I was waiting for you to comment about anti secret tech, honestly.

to generate iceblock on every rewind you cant cast that many spells or youll dillute the pool

so the deck cant run that many spells and the way to generate infinite ones must be around minions

doubt a deck with all the focus for it is to replay a specific is that good or worth complining about

100% agree. That and unlimited freeze effect.

Okay so ā€˜unlimited’ is a bit of an exaggeration here. To the point where it’s a straight up lie. How many can you get playing 2 copies and then 2 rewinds? 4? That’s kind of annoying, sure, but by no means game breaking. In most cases, especially in wild, if the game lasted long enough for that to happen, you were going to lose anyway.

There is no need to call me a liar since I had no idea how many are possible with rewind, and I did state that the player used four.

You need to check your insults at the door, since they break the CoC.
#ignored #kindnesscostsnothing

but at the same time you claimed its a infinite loop with the ā€œunlimited ice blockā€ bit

Poorly worded perhaps, since my knowledge is limited, as I have never played the deck, nor the card.
The player used Ice block four times per my HSR.
Waste your whataboutism on someone else.
You also call players words that break the CoC, and frankly?
You bore me.
Since you are neither gentleman, nor adult enough to apologize for your remark in the other thread, I expect no better here.

I accept your surrender.

Not wishing to read the insults of trolls is hardly surrender.
I stand by what I say. Ice block was HOF’d for a reason, and being able to play it four turns in a row goes too far.

I think a lot of people in this thread don’t understand how Rewind works.

Your discovery pool is only limited to the spells you played this game. So if you have a 4 spell deck, you can get Iceblock 100% of the time.

That means in a 4 spell deck, you will have, at BARE MINIMUM 4 iceblocks.

Now factor in other discoveries/copy cards and it’s possible to go much higher.

This is one of the main issues I thought was going to arise with a spell like Rewind. We’re 1 spell away from being able to do infinite Iceblocks.

In fact, I wouldn’t doubt that an Infinite Iceblock loop exists with stuff like Sivara

I already have an infinite Iceblock loop in game right now, but the deck sucks lol
