Returned a month or so ago ..first rotation. What to expect?

I played a lot a while back, but this is my first “rotation” experience. Will two expansions move into wild only or just one per expansion release?

Nothing moves to wild at the next expansion.

At the start of the next Hearthstone year (probably April 2020), the three expansion that released in 2018 (Witchwood, Boomsday, and Rastakhan Rumble) will all simultaneously rotate out of standard.
At least, that’s how the rotation worked in past years. It is of course always possible that Blizzard changes the rules between now and then, and decides to switch to rotating one expansion whenever a new expansion releases. But I don’t expect them to.

Best way to remember it is that every expansion has a 2 year life in standard.

The Witchwood, Boomsday Project and Rastakhan’s Rumble were all 2018 expansions. They rotate in 2020 around April when the new expansion starts for that year.

Rise of Shadows, Saviors of Uldum and ??? are 2019 expansions (this year). These will rotate in 2021 around April when the new expansion starts for that year.

You have 6 expansions at any given time with 3 going out each year.
