Renathal nerf is amazing

The nerf opened up the format an incredible amount. Very nice change to move away from these unpunishable minion piles with 80000000 health and force people to play real hearthstone again where life is a resource.

I disagree.

If give only extra 5 life then the downside in consistency should be extra 5 cards instead 10.

The way they do this thing just kill an interesting concept.

People enjoy 40 card decks. They wouldnt take that away from people and force them to edit their decks

The extra cards aren’t that bad since we have so much draw and mana discounting right now. A lot of classes can now both draw and play all the extra cards than old decks would have done with just 30 cards.

What happens come rotation when you have a lot less optimal cards?

I think it should be 35 health for 35 cards as well to be honest

People gonna still play XL decks.

Except now they’re exception and not half of the meta.

I agree, I only wished they made it no health bonus and 40 card deck limit.

Dont see the point of just giving free health for no reason, oh ok he is a vampire so what make it so the legendary minion has lifesteal then.

They should make it 100 card /50 health. More cards = better deck right?

And why stop at just HS cards? Let people play with their credit cards. Can’t have enough P2W.

Aggro metas are only amazing for people with no attention span and Ritalin junkies.

Hard no.

Basically opened up the game to massive amounts of OTK and burn decks that once again are centered around (early) draw and stall.

What’s the point of playing a game where you swing at your opponents face for 4-6 turns? Or worse yet, you draw cards barely playing anything only to OTK your opponent from hand from large amounts of health?

I mean these things have existed in HS forever, but its coming to a breaking point where its clear the lethal by turn 4-6 needs an answer. I play with 30 or 40 cards, not 5 or 6 cards in my deck. If I play only 4-6 turns on average, I will only see 5-7 cards from my deck drawn.

Team 5 thinks they need to copy Marvel Snap, and have at most 5-6 turns (IDK if this is true in Snap I assume it is.)

Its a lot of degenerate game play is what it is. We finally were at a point where we were not being force fed these trash aggro Druid and Warlock decks yet here we are again. There is no one to blame but the player base that eats this kind of slop up.

Yup, this is the game now it seems.

As I stated in another thread, we’ve power creeped minions and spells for 8 years now.
Spells do way more damage for less mana.
Minions do way more damage for less mana.
Mana cheating combos grossly outperform what they previously have.

And in those 8 years with cards getting stronger and stronger and stronger, starting health has not changed a bit. The only help we got in that department to help level out starting health with power creep just got nerfed.

At what point do we have to get to where we have to increase starting health?
How much power creep do we need before we address this ever increasing problem?
Do we need to get to a point where we have doubled, tripled, quadrupled power creep before we toy with the idea that health should be higher?

Power creep is not going away.

Exactly the type of deck the OP plays, so its no surprise he is ecstatic about the nerf.

Didn’t matter.

Zeddy just posted a few hours ago. Renathal was still the most popular card yesterday.

It would go away. Or at least reduced.

If we all agreed to spam the Forums, Reddit, and Twitter with threads on it.

But instead we keep spamming nerf Druid more.

It’s all about our priorities. I would love to join you in prioritizing powercreep ahead of Druid.

No, I want buffs to health. Healing. Armor for Warrior.

It’s no coincidence that Warrior and Priest are bottom of the barrel right now.
Healing doesn’t come close in power to current damage.
Warrior armor doesn’t come close in power to current damage.
Starting health is no longer on equal footing to how power crept cards have become.
We’re dealing with an 8 year old starting health and 8 years of cumulative power creeping.

They nerfed Priest pretty hard, so yeah.

They buffed the hell out of disruption. You have been asking about it for years.

The problem is that there’s an inherent contradiction between spamming removals and killing your opponent. What Control needs is to kill the opponent. They need cards like Anduin and Mind Blast.

And then people just lose their mind when a Control Priest actually kills them and they demand it doesn’t happen again for years.

I agree with almost everything you said.
The power creep has flatly gone too far.
Where I differ is in how I would deal with it.

But bless Priest deserved it, it’s just as bad as Miracle Rogue was.

Yes, they did. But the OTKs and hand damage and mana cheating has far surpassed the disruption. Don’t forget, they also nerfed the disruption.

No, Control doesn’t need OTK cards like Mind Blast, they just need healing ratio to be on par with damage. Damage always has an advantage as you can never heal over your current life total. So a 4 mana deal 6 and a 4 mana heal 12 used to be the ratio. That gap is so far gone now.

Control doesn’t have to be about board removal with spells all the time. It can be with minions as well (like infiltrator). The problem is that Control can’t mana cheat and keep up with Damage. If Control was allowed to mana cheat the way damage is allowed to, it would be a lot more balanced. But the second control gets some mana cheat it gets nuked. That’s fine. Maybe Control doesn’t need a mana cheat. But it needs armor/healing if it doesn’t get the mana cheat.

Well yeah, people will always complain about Control Priest. But why does a meta have to always be uneven in ratio with aggro:combo:control?

I don’t even care if Control Priest is dead last. But where’s Control Warrior? Why is warrior not the dominant armor class? What’s going on nowadays?

We’re just severely out of whack when it comes to damage and health/armor.
