Remove quests from BG now!

For the love of God. Remove this abomination of an addon. How could you design something that is arguably worse than Diablo?

Quests are absolutely ruining the game. I am long time fan. I have played since beta. I am begging you to remove this atrocity.

Quests are dictating the outcome of every game. Got a bad quest? Too bad, easy top 7.

Quests add too much RNG to a game that is shying away from real strategy and choice. Got Ysera but the quest you need requires you to play beasts? Too bad.

Forced to play 15 useless battlecries and you are not millhouse or brann? Too bad bud.

Trying to hit that sweet early 6 minion from your triple as reno? Dead in two turns from a tempo highroller.

The patch makes you feel completely helpless and powerless.

I don’t mind the quests, I hate that toxfin is back though. Buddies were a lot more fun.

stop going for 1st place and go for 4th instead, top 4 is a win

I’m kinda resigned to this fact. My average placement all time is to be in 3.1 place, so overall I’m a winner! Haha

This is the patch in a nutshell.

I am offered murlocs in the early game so I build for murlocs. The quest rewards have no synergy with murlocs so I switch to elementals with the quest that gives elementals every turn. So for my first triple I discover Brann before I have completed my quest. Go figure.

Am I the only one who hates this? RNG RNG and MORE RNG. No predictability anymore. I dont like to janked around by a game this much.

This is the good attitude.
There are 8 players, so 7 will not get first.
You also don’t gain more XP by getting 1st, probably to avoid upsetting people who ends up 4th.

I like quests, just like buddies and darkmoon prizes. They make the game feel different (even if they are unbalanced as hell, everyone has access to them, so it’s somehow fair).

It would be more boring if they didn’t add anything new with season 2

It was always RNG.
You can’t really predict a good triple outcome before looking at what it gives you.

Since we get the quest on turn 4, changing strategy is very easy.
There aren’t many strategies already defined by turn 3 (unless you are a tribe hero, but that’s a different story)

Switch Gameplan in the beginning of Turn4.
U serious?

Yeah this is something people need to learn.

Just because you got a pup bot and a micro mummy does t mean you are mechs, etc.

The quests coming on turn 4 is significant because it’s the first turn you are guaranteed to be able to buy 2 minions, which allows you to make a pretty informed decision on what to buy.

Granted the tribal heroes may have some annoyance with quests but there are usually options that work with any hero.

Assess how strong you are and what you’re able to complete in time, or just take the strongest quest and accept the fact that you may very well die before you pop off.

all 3 quest rewards were for another tribe ? i find it hard to believe

Not to mention brann is pretty strong with elementals in the midgame

Yeah there is a lot of skill involved, but the quests can make the skill obsolete. If you get a crappy quest, or one that doesnt synergize with your hero power, while half the tavern (if not more) do get decent quest rewards. Its 50/50 weather it all falls into place. My gripe is that no matter how hard you play to get to 4th or better sometimes the game is basically over when quests are given at round 4. Just not a lot of fun when you cant really keep up because of terrible options with quests.

I have almost never had that.

Last night the 3 quests where useless, too hard and maybe useful if I got the right minions. I never got the minions had 0 help from the quest and got 3rd.
The game before I had 4/4 on death rattles dieing. I had 4 deathrattle minions for 5-6 turns with perhaps 40/40 I ran into a elemental killed almost nothing 27-0 and out in 4th.

By that description of how you played your BG i can see why you are having trouble. You need to play more games and learn the nuisance of what to take and when. Also as said above playing for top 4 should always be your goal. Once you can regularly manage that you try to improve on that each game. However sometimes you are just going to have games where it all doesn’t go right or your hero’s offered don’t match the lobby at all.

The only real change i believe BG needs made is that many of the weaker heroes either needed changed or they need far more armor added to them. I’m only a 9-10K BG player but that’s the only issues i see ATM. Quests are nice but like hero powers they aren’t necessary if you play the lobby correctly.
