When hunter had plush crush hunter that OTK’ed on turn 10 ish with little counterplay it was nerfed to the dirt, yet when the same play pattern emerges for Paladin and DK where it is nothing but leech stall lol and dragon stall lol they don’t get touched and instead paladins got their imbue buffed to 1 mana for 2 cards instead of 2 mana for 2.
Leech did get nerfed thankfully, but cycle rogue got it’s head shoved in the dirt and the new burn rogue seems like it’s being eyeballed too. Essentially all the fun was drained from the game when queueing up against 3 classes lately and it’s just an auto concede from me. I’m not saying those particular decks are overly strong and need massive nerfs but more that they’re boring, predictable, and not worth wasting time on if i get a dead draw or not.
Take me back to the days where I had to guess if druid was toggwaggle, maly, big druid, mecha’thun druid, etc. that level of variety was what made the game fun and dynamic.
There needs to be something strong and simple so that the game appeals to a wider audience. In the higher MMRs, Paladin is much less played and is pretty easily countered by a few decks and good strategy.
It comes down to specific’s but the algorithm’s dictate whet deck you get matched to lose to when you are supposed to. Sure you can tech to play against one deck and then you get matched against the decks yours suck to go against. We all know how to play all these these decks. There is no high skill ceiling in this game as much as people wish that were the case.
