Reckless Apprentice balance

  1. Reckless Apprentice targets an alive enemy minion
  2. All enemy minions die
  3. Reckless Apprentice targets next minion

See the bug? It calculates the amount of enemies it will fire on before firing off, instead of checking what if any enemies can be targeted once a round has gone off.

Fixing that bug would balance Reckless Apprentice in Blessing of the Wisp from an instant max hp KO, into a board clear that does luk based face damage.

No bugs here, working as intended

no

Blessing of the Wisp hero power does not target anything, which is exactly why this works.

The wording of Reckless Apprentice kind of suggests that the hero power triggers are targeted at minions, but we have known that’s not true for a long time, e.g. the hunter hero power which always goes face. A more correct wording might be something like “Trigger your hero power once for each enemy minion, targeting it if possible.”

Dead minions are generally not removed from the battlefield until all effects fully resolve, so it is correct that they remain on the battlefield for all of the hero power triggers.

And random damage generally does ignore dead minions, so it is correct that the damage from Blessing will hit face as the only remaining legal target.

So no, I do not see any bug here.
