R.C. Rampage is attrocious card design

So, if I’ve played a solid start with cheap minions turns 1 , 2 and 3 and the opponent plays that attrocious card on board having 2 cheap minions on board (we’re fighting for board ) he gets 5 2/2 minions ? How is that fair ?

It’s absolutely attrocious.

Makes me want to put threads back in my leech dk if the card wasnt so useless in every other matchup.
If its not bananas or saddle up theres always something going on with hunters little tokens. So annoying

You know what’s coming, it’s either that or Saddle up, either way you need to focus on clearing those early tokens, and if you can’t, focus on drawing in hopes of drawing removal in time

If you can’t do neither, then third option is accepting that it’s just one of your counters. Now is a good time to assess your winrate and figure out if you need a better deck.

Balancing is not done on cards but decks. Hunters are good at spamming minions and not necessarily great at doing other things.

That said the Devs probably dun goofed again because those ancient cards appear powerful as aggro decks this patch.

I’ll give you the hunters’ perspective on that card. You almost never want to play it for 2/2’s, or 1/1’s. That’s either YOLO, or a desperation play. Lots of classes have tools to deal with that board for 4-mana, or less. So that’s a tempo- and value loss, and maybe even GG.

Even 3/3’s get cleaned up by multiple classes. So the sweet spot for Rampage is 4/4’s, and for that, you have to have a solid board to begin with – not an easy feat.

Aggro/tempo hunter is a fair deck, and the meta needs that kind of deck to keep the greedier decks honest, and in-check.

Been on a hot streak with Egg hunter and that card is definitely strong. Every class but druid has an on curve way to deal with a turn 4 board of 2/2s.

4 3/3s though is tougher for several classes. And the beauty with egg hunter is the resilience to aoe provided by the eggs.

According to HSGuru, it’s at the top of the standard meta right now with a 63% winrate, which is quite strong. Most of the games I’ve played it the opponent is in danger by turn 4 and most are over by turn 5 or 6.

It’s actually hillarious to see it fall down with ranks xD

Diamond to legend, best deck with 63.3%
Legend, best deck with 60.7%
Top 5k legend - 2nd with 56%
Top 1k legend - 5th with 52%

It’s still a strong deck for all ranks, no doubt about it

I don’t get what’s funny.

Half the decks do that.
