My casual observations research is complete.
50 occasions where I played a random target card like Rune of the Archmage - only twice did ANY of the spells target the opponent or the opponent’s minions, 42 times neither the opponent nor their minions were targeted but my hero or minions were, 5 times the spells targeted and killed my own hero (so the game ‘randomly’ cast enough damage spells that ‘randomly’ targeted MY hero enough to bring hp from 15+ down to 0), 19 times the random targeting destroyed all of my own minions, 12 of the times the spell destroyed all of my own minions it left enough of my opponent’s minions on the board to make it an obvious and easy win for them… but if that’s not enough, the mirror side; out of 50 time that my opponent played a random target card - ONE time out of 50 it targeted their own hero, it NEVER resulted in a suicide, and on ZERO occasions did it clear the caster’s own board.
So Blizz, you’re tracking my progress in order to make fair matchups? Maybe the algorithms should just focus more on making the gameplay experience itself less of a dump.
How did rune of the archmage target your minions before enemy ones? The card always targets enemy minions first.
I’m guessing your played it while the enemy had no minions on the board and you have counted the minion only spells as self-targeting rng.
what? thats impossible unless the opponent has stealth and nobody would play rune while the opponent has stealth
