Questions About Decks and Cards

I’ve got a few questions though they may be somewhat related, so here goes.

  1. What is the difference between Classic and Core?

  2. When I started, I got premade decks. Now I can’t use them anymore until I complete apprenticeship. Why did they take the beginner decks away from the beginners?

  3. Some cards that the deck builder say are invalid really aren’t. For example, I had a deck with Consecration that was bolded in red in my deck (meaning I couldn’t use it.) However when I removed Consecration from my deck and then put it back in, then it was fine. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help. :grinning:

  1. Classic is a game mode utilizing Classic and Basic cards. Classic cards come from Classic packs and are a permanent part of a player’s collection. Core cards are given to players on loan for each year. Some Core cards are expected to rotate next year, but we don’t have any more information on that yet as the Core set is new.
  2. Your beginner deck is likely no longer viable because the yearly rotation caused cards in the deck to be no longer legal in Standard mode, and you have to graduate from Apprentice ranks before having access to Wild mode.
  3. Many Core cards are reprints of cards from other sets, including Classic, and the overlap is likely what caused your issue with Consecration.
