Hi, not sure this goes here but I am not sure if it’s a bug and I didn’t have enough information about the situation anyway so wanted to ask. I thought that defile would deal damage and if it killed a minion would deal damage again, up to 13 or 14 times or whatever the cap is.
I was playing today and in two different games I had several creatures with one health and tried to use defile to kill them and take my opponents creatures with them only to have defile not work like I thought. It seemed that if I cast it and let’s say it killed two creatures with one health it only went off one additional time instead of once for each creature. Is that correct? Do you have to kill one creature at a time to make it continue going off?
You are correct. The number of minions it kills has no affect on how many more times it goes off. It only goes off again if it killed a minion on the last tick.
To kill every minion, you need to have an unbroken chain of health on the minions (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc). That is why warlock players tend not to flood the board with minions. They hold the minions in their hand that will fill in the gaps in the health sequence, until they are ready to cast defile.
When playing against a warlock, you want to try not to have minions that are close in health on the board at the same time.
Note that Divine Shield minions are special, they count as a minion with one higher health. You have to use one of the Defile ticks to break their shield.
