Quest Priest is a Problem Now With 40/40 Card

The new 40/40 card makes Priest much stronger, if not outright IMBA now.

  1. The quest reward is an “I win” card with no counter.
  2. The quest reward can be obtained much easier with more health and more diverse control cards.
  3. The quest reward itself can be drawn by multiple cards now, including the elemental that draws highest spell, the deathreatle draws two spells, and a bunch of trade cards.

These were not playable without this new 40/40 kid. Now we are looking at a very OP control quest deck where pretty much eats all other control decks.

Leave it alone. There are more powerful decks to worry about.

I’d like to add that the deck has its matchups like any other. Try and not let this game tilt you. Lastly, if a Quest Priest manages to pull off the their win condition, they deserve to win.

You kidding right? The extra 10 cards makes it take them so much longer to complete their quest and find their I win card. It’s in fact so slow that I have beaten every single Renathal quest priest I have ran into with my quest warlock deck that can draw through it’s whole deck, complete my quest, and kill the priest with fatigue damage before they assemble their voltron.

Considering all questlines the priest one is the only I think is a real quest with earned reward, the others needed to be nerfed to oblivion for so pathetic requirements and OP rewards.

The priest need to play specific cost cards in every step, pray very hard for your hard earned reward minion don’t be devoured by a murlock, play the reward and tutor the spell.

After all that the player deserve to win.

It is far from easy and the new card give the deck a nice place in the meta, much worse is lose because the opponent get a free Smite from the BS OP reward you can’t do anything about it.

it has a counter but they are RNG ones lol like sniping/stopping a card they need to complete quest the 4 mana counter minion/spell. or rogue parrrley the 10 mana card or hooktusk stealling deck/hand.

10 cards make it harder for most to complete the quest if you’re able to stall out for a turn or turn with cards like frostbite or ice trap but like I said it’s RNG.

I was able to snipe the quest reward 2 times so far once normally with Hooktusk and the other with Bran+ Hooktusk. (still lost the game with Bran+ lol I was pretty much outta steam and couldnt deal with the crystals/ with lifesteal.) sniped it but my hand was full so didn’t get it

the deck is slow enough to be rushed down you will never win the late game letting them play freely.

Quest Priest is objectively worse off with the new legendary in it. Having 40 cards, means that it can be very difficult to acquire the 2,3,4 then 5,6 then 7,8 in quick pace. The anti-aggro nature of having 10 additional health is also insignificant. Aggro decks have transitioned to becoming about having a board that doesn’t care what your current health is at. If you let them keep a board at any point, they’ll crush you, whether or not you have 30 health or 40 health.

Oh no, a deck that wins turn 10 if youre alive and draw perfectly?
Have you seen what any of the other decks are doing, or did you get stuck on the card text?

10 more cards to draw through…

Yep, when I run my 30 card Quest Priest, I am overjoyed to see a 40 card Quest Priest. Not only are they warding off aggro for me in the meta, I will also finish my quest light years before them.

Play Druid. Play Alignment. Now their quest is impossible to complete. Win.

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Whenever non-aggressive priests start appearing in matches it is time to break out lots of druid.

how ? i dont see any difference between ques progress with or without renathal

and no counter ? isnt this still the only quest you cant complete and play the reward minion on the same turn ?that means unlike other quest they have to hope you dont have mutanus by the time they complete it

I believe this is a fine win condition. Sure, it might not feel great, but then, losing rarely does.

The several hoops for the priest to jump through justifies this win condition, for me.

it just as easy to get your card assuming you add more of each step, the issue is getting your quest reward out of your deck when you are done

and then you find out they play quest deathrattle (since there room for that easly in a 40 card) and you still lose

Um… yeah. That’s exactly what it is. It’s specifically designed that way. The balance is the long road to acquiring the “IWIN” card.

Actually, the reward takes longer to obtain, but the added health and control tools help offset that, hopefully allowing the player to survive long enough to get there.

The card that’s traditionally used to draw the Shard is Thrive… if you’ve drawn it and haven’t had to use both of them to fish for a survival tool. I assume the Elemental you reference is the Primordial Protector? I haven’t seen that in any opponents I’ve played and I don’t think it’s efficient to add another 8 cost card to my deck; I’d rather stick with my two Whirlpools. And is the DR card the Spirit Guide? That’s been run in QP since the start.

At low ranks it’s about 51% win rate. And that drops off as you hit Plat, Diamond, Legend; it seems to be neither IMBA nor OP.

It’s a combo deck. That’s what it’s supposed to do.

Not true at all. Just stop with the hyperbole.
