Proof this game is rigged

The reason this game is rigged is because of the MMR system. How, you ask? Let me show you. Lets take a walk scene cuts to forestry and a sandy path

The MMR system matches you with players of equal rating. This is where the bulk of a players learning experience will be. Much of the time, we are learning from players who are equal to us in skill. How can we improve when we cannot be matched against better players who make better plays? Those plays will not even be in our memory or experience. Whoops! stumbles on a rock Sorry about that. Anyways, what I was saying is, you also can’t learn from watching streamers because it’s not your first hand experience. If players could play random opponents, they would have more of a chance to play semi-stronger to even much stronger opponents. Then, once they lose, they can remember the emotions they had during the match and remember better what plays beat them. Next time they play, they can use that experience to make a more informed decision of their play.

In conclusion oh shoot. Sorry did I spit on you there? I’m sorry… Oh gosh. Do you need a napkin or something? (5 minutes pass) Are you ready to listen to me again? Ok, so in conclusion, the game is rigged to keep your skill exactly where it is. Mediocre and willing to pay to win more. But the winning part still won’t happen, until you get better.

Alright, we’ve arrived back where we started. I think we went around that 10 ft. diameter circular path for about 15 minutes now, wouldn’t ya say? What’d we go around 10 times or somethin’? Anyway, lets go back inside to play some more Hearthstone. I’m still waiting to face the deck I’m trying to counter. both go inside and the door closes

You cracked the code. Godspeed, and don’t let Blizzard catch you and send you to a Siberian Prison Camp for this.

No, yeah. It checks out.

You keep using the word rigged. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I dunno. Rigged seems to be an offensive word that is discriminatory towards pretentious people. Gotta watch your back before you get cancelled.

I’m not sure how much you can really learn from that but it certainly would be nice to play without this MMR. I started to play Ranked because in Casual my MMR was probably garbage facing like AFK players, “conceders”, and boring basic decks. Although I also liked that people play things out more in Ranked and are just generally a little more engaged in the game. I’m generally playing “casually” but I still want to play the game and not like have the game be over because someone just threw the game, etc. Nevertheless that “MMR reset” (since it’s two separate MMRs) was I think the most important here. Therefore it would be really nice if we had that option to be matched without MMR. Especially now for me since I’m close to 500 wins with some classes but they still haven’t made that “golden upgrade” optional. And yes, I don’t really like that or rather that it will only be this and that certain class but not the others. For now I guess I’m stuck with Casual on the classes I reach 499 wins with. And yes, especially because of that MMR it rather sucks. The best you can do for now is playing is trying to find people to play friendly duels with I guess.

The MMR system does what its declared purpose is: to match you with opponents of (ideally) similar skill. You can argue that this purpose is flawed (I might agree on that point, always facing opponents of the same level, regardless of your rank, makes the climb rather pointless IMO), but that does not mean that the system is “rigged” any more than the traffic system is “rigged” to make you go below the speed limit.

I used to be a rank 20 players. After watching a streamer, I instantly got to rank 5 , at the time. My deck wasn’t good enough to go legend, but the growth was there. After watching some stream for a while, and getting a tier 1 deck, I ended up legend. From my experience, you just need to own a good deck and know how to play it. And experience the other tier1 deck strenght/weakness with your deck. That all.

Poe’s Law applies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe%27s_law

i just accepted that all the hsreplay statistics are wrong and that the forums opinion is correct, got legend in a day after that.

I have no problem with MMR I do however have a problem with being matched against players currently legend while im in gold rank.

The MMR “pool” should be based off players in your current division because that’s what ranking system actually works. As it stands now rank is completely and utterly pointlesd

matchmaking doesn’t matter, skill? lol
you can wreck your typical counterdeck opponent quickly,
its all about what cards are drawn or not. (And of course what is randomly generated)

everything is practically a zephyrs algorithm interaction

u dont need to proof anything ,any1 with lil programing knowledge will see that game is rigged.

please provide us with the full extent of the rigging then o great progammer

Stop feeding the trolls man… lol

nah, i actually really want to read his indepth explanation

A serious response to the OP.

The deviation your opponent has in their mmr to yours can vary and the amount of mmr rewarded or punished for the outcome for each player is adjusted accordingly. If you play against someone within higher mmr than you, you will get more mmr if you win and lose less mmr if you lose than someone with equal mmr. (Extrapolate this for the scenario with you opponent, it’s the same idea).

They do this specifically for the reason you highlighted, you can learn a lot from someone who is better but closer in skill to you). But at the same time they punish you less for losing (and symmetrically punish the better player more for a loss).

What they SHOULD be doing is only matching top MMR players with bottom MMR players.

This way, the lesser skilled players can get better more quickly by getting even more perpetually enraged (which will obviously make them play better, not quit. No one quits.) and the top players benefit by more easily maintaining their upper-Legend ranks so they can be less stressed about making it to pro-level marketing events tournaments and competing to entertain us.

Can you GET more win-win than that???

im intrigued by this idea and how the forum complainers would react when they get matched against actual pro players instead of the usual “but i got matched vs a legend player as diamond”
