These incremental advantage, snowball, fast draw decks exist/were there last year, but the self-identifying âpriest playerâ is a greed seeking player who wants big board clears combined with the greedy cards.
Blizzard gave back the control removal tools, but has not given priest those greedy cards like they used to. Warrior got the greed but lost the removal. If priest ever got big stat minions lorthemar would be in every one of the greed decks. We can be thankful priest is not being given them.

Naga was never incremental value. It was make a giant board in one turn and pray it doesnât get cleared. It was a combo deck. Overheal was just⌠bad, really. It is competing with Shadow Priest for Tempo, after all. My PC died so my time online has been limited lately, idk what the state of the deck is now. New Elemental seemed nice. Still seems kinda combo-ish.
Priest does combos for board control, everybody panics. DH combos your face in and people be like âItâs how the game is played.â

Overheal is an incremental advantage, snowball deck. But it is a gameplay type that greed priests hate.
Greed priest players donât want to blow their deck in several big push turns, they want big reversal clears allowing them to play big cost minions and spells for huge effect and have total late game domination over every class. Greed priests will sacrifice win rate for curated experiences.
This is the kind of âfunâ that priests bring. If you go to the game in his link, both players have nearly full hands and are near full health on turn 30 when the opponent concedes. The whole match is going to be a pass the turn because no one wants to play the limited minions since they will be drowned or cleared. If there was a âminion svalnaâ that could only be played on turn 20 or later, all these priests would run it.
Lucky you never got stuck in the ZulâJin Dead Mans Hand Duels Meta ((those mirror matches typically went till turn timer claimed a draw at turn timer. and if some people wouldnt speed the turns up to keep you there, there weâre 2hour games because of zuljin animation queining 5 or 6 times per turn because of the treasures that reduce the cost of other cards in hand. never truly lived until you have had to sit through the animation of 300 cards being cast everyturn. I wish Blizzard would just let people disable Animations
Yes, thatâs greed. Except it doesnât work like that because you canât clear and play anything big in the same turn. But yeah, typical Priest main wants to play big cards that do cool stuff. Doesnât want to play a little elemental that makes things bigger if youâve never been chased off the board.
Thatâs not incremental imo because itâs a guaranteed loss if you ever fall behind on board. Because Priest has no reach. Even Paladin has more reach right now.
Kibler succeeding with a deck doesnât mean itâs good tbh. He can make anything work and would definitely be a top legend player if he wanted to stick to popular meta decks.
