Prince Renethal is NOT as good as you think it is

Lol people will play it, but that doesn’t mean it’s good - the value of adding additional cards to your deck beyond the minimum is a common misconception among new CCG players, mainly because their card evaluation skills are not yet fully developed and cutting cards is a challenge even for the best of us (…those of us who actually build our own decks at least lol). Nothing wrong with that though, I’m glad new players have the opportunity to learn and we all have the opportunity to experiment with a different deckbuilding paradigm.

Either way I agree the 10 additional cards is definitely a downside in the vast majority of contexts. I usually explain it to new players thusly:

You are making all of the best cards in your deck less likely to be drawn in the interest of possibly drawing/playing the 10 worst cards instead.

That being said, 10 free/guaranteed additional life on turn one is a pretty HUGE upside, so the card may indeed be good… and Hearthstone’s fatigue rules are pretty stupid IMO, so there might be some utility in exhaustion play patterns… hopefully not though, I haven’t seen any of that stuff in Wild yet. I actually don’t think I’ve lost to this card yet, some people are even playing it in singleton decks…

I like it tbh, including it is an interesting deckbuilding decision IMO. Haven’t used it myself yet though, might try it next season…

It is a great addition for singleton decks because have a power spike for Reno but only works in Wild for now because have more powerful minions with singleton sinergy and more good cards to build the deck.

In Standard we have to wait, maybe when have 6 full expansions to work with and at least 2 more singleton cards support something can be done, for now, only Reno is not enough payoff for running 40 cards deck without duplicate, hell, even a 30 cards one.

For normal decks with duplicates I really don’t see why not run this card as long you have a good Standard collection, 10 extra health upside surpass by a large margin the very small disavantage of 10 extra cards because we have enough good cards to fill the deck, not feel like filler cards at all.

This card single handedly ruined the meta. EVERY single opponent I am playing against is playing this card.

awww you mean you cant kill your opponent with curses alone anymore? poor guy

Personal preference, for me the meta improves a lot, just tired of dying in turn 5-6 against DH or hunter.

This is such an amazing addition to my wild quest plot twist warlock

Gameplan is to initially play plot twist with dollmaster/betrug to cheat out huge powerful deathrattles, later on to shuffle in a ton of primes and hero power into huge 0cost minions

I’ve been fiddling with this deck since plot twist/quest were released, I’m still fiddling  tonight I want to fit in Teron Gorefiend and a cpuple sac cards

What’s the deal with Quest Warlock? I don’t see how it’s an effective win condition, given that there aren’t many self-damaging spells and minions.

It is a tech against curse warlock, as soon you played the reward you deny any curse or fatihue damage and that deck really relies in that for the win condition.

Works too for a extremely long backup plan when everything else fails, warlock is pretty good to remove and heal but is lacking in win condition, even Jaraxxus feels pretty weak this days.
