Prince Renethal is NOT as good as you think it is

Dragon pool isn’t that big atm, particularly with the amount of card draw Druid has (Moonlit Guidance, Aquatic Form, Composting, Peasant, Guff, the Choose One draw highest/lowest cost card, and I might be missing some). And while Kazakusan might be one win condition, many of the other dragons I mentioned are quite powerful when played cheaply, even with reduced stats. (Which isn’t always a downside against Priests who might want to silence the board, because you’ll gain stats when they do so.) Even the amalgam card isn’t really bad, as it’s another Discover chance for a powerful dragon like Kazakusan.

Is it guaranteed? Certainly not. Fairly competive? It looks to be, with that extra 10 health to work with. I definitely don’t think that deck would be remotely viable in Wild, however; the Dragon pool is waaaaay too deep there. But in Standard, Renathal is pulling Prestor out of the “firmly meme card” category.

I’ll note Regis’ video today about it was based on a list someone took to Rank 12 Legend, and he was crushing it a lot from what I saw on Twitch.

Yooo I’m not playing it because it’s good, I’m playing it cause it’s FUN! Love the addition on my Plot Twist meme deck, also allows me to fit in more draw to compensate; it’s EXACTLY as good as I think it is :joy:

(“good” definitely has a different meaning to us meme players lol)

You hit the nail on the head.

I just wish we could rewind the last patch and put this card into the meta. I want to see that Warrior deck pre nerf with this card. I’m pretty sure that deck would be an absolute nightmare at 40/40.

Entirely fair  It’s why I chose “competitive” in my last post. If a deck is fun, it’s good. Might not be competitive, but if you’re enjoying it, it’s still “good”. The whole point of playing any game is to have fun, though some people find fun via different methods, and that’s completely valid.

More than likely why they nerfed Warrior so harshly

Except it as as good as i think if i play the right deck…

We need a Princess Lahtener card, which shrinks your deck to 20 cards and 20 health - but also does the same to your opponent, throwing away ten cards from their deck.

well now im just going to use the card even harder

Fair is fair.

The screeching from the usual suspects would stop them from doing it though.

A couple of my Warlock decks s ᴛ ʀ ᴏ ɴ ɢ ʟ ʏ ᴅ ɪ s ᴀ ɢ ʀ ᴇ ᴇ with the premise of the OP.

Yeah, I was playing a control warlock before the patch, and now with an extra 10 cards, I can now include the curses. Been doing pretty well in the 5 to 1 Platinum ranks with it.

This card is enabling some good survivability in wild Warlock builds. Certainly helps combatting fish rogue etc.

how do you know what i think?

Please, share with us.

Pre-Prince Renalath, I messed around with Quest Warlock to no avail. I’ve read a lot of players are messing around with it now, though. I’m confused as to why because you typically want less cards, not more. I’m missing something.

I’ve got a good feeling about this…

I love this card, in the class you wouldn’t expect it: Hunter

It allows for a hybrid secret/beast build because now you actually got the slots for both.

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

putting more card to the deck is not an upside obviously but it makes possible to combine some good synergies.
