Priests not playing their own cards but only copies of your cards and getting fully boosted copies is so frustrating… Just make them play with thir own cards ffs!!!

Copy cards was the compromise.
Self-identified “priest players” want the most greedy cards possible, enabled by combination with the best board clears of all classes. Giving them the possibility of getting the good cards from other classes fills a gap that would have otherwise been filled with more aman’thul like cards. Somewhere along the way, wallet warrior and legendary paladin bled into the priest class creating a demand for the monstrosity that causes priest to be the most hated class in hearthstone.

Just play priest and copy their copy cards, so you can copy while they copy your copies of copies

Identity of the Priest class should be healing and mind controlling, stealing cards should be a Rogue specialty. Not sure why priests went that way?

Priest is the designated “annoy the piss out of all opponents” class. Copying has always been a part of Priest. Might as well accept it.
