Prediction: Dire frenzy will be nerfed in Year of dragon

Personally since it was released I find it quite an OP card. Why do I think so? To shuffle 3 copies of a minion into the deck require 2 mana (gang up). Blessing of king give a minion +4/4 at 4 mana. So we can say +3/3 is about 3 mana worth. Tts 5 mana worth for 4 and 2 cards in one. The shuffled copies are still the buffed minion. This is worth probably 2 mana. The limitation is to beast. Let’s - 1 mana. We still have a easily 6 mana card in a 4 mana card that do the work of 2 cards combined.

With master call’ the beast limitation even look to be a pro than con so yea. I believe its true value is minimally 5 mana and it will still see play.

If hunter continues insane. Oh yeah, it will be a target.

No. Gang up is terrible on anything besides Oracle. Just because Midrange Hunter is suddenly shining and suddenly running a copy or 2 that doesn’t make the card OP, it’s perfectly fair.

I want you and you and you Says hi. the mana cost stated in my post still stand. Its do way more things than a 4 mana allows. But of cuz, it’s just a prediction. Who knows what will happen.

The card isn’t OP, the reason it’s seeing much play right now is because Master’s call exists, which allows you to consistently draw those beasts, not because Dire Frenzy is too good.

Effects like those that shuffle cards in your deck for value have always had a discount tag on them. For example, Fal’dorei Strider which is literally 16/16 worth of stats for 4 mana and nobody complains about that.

And that’s the problem. Master call is in year of dragon meta. A huffer not dealed with in turn 3 can lead to a dire frenzy in turn 4 and a master call that may get back 2 huffer. Turn 6 having 2 7/4 charged is not the most fun thing. Shuffle was fine in hunter because they lack draws. But master call broke it. So my guess is something will be nerf but my bet is on dire frenzy because it refund 40 not 400.

If midrage hunter continues to be dominant after the rotation, Dire Frenzy is probably a card that would be scrutinized (along with Tundra Rhino I think) as a possible target.

For 4 mana, the +3/+3 buff and the minion deck copy seems about right. I feel like the card goes out of the normal cost/benefit range by giving the copies the +3/+3 buff without increasing their cost, effectively creating 21 extra charge damage in deck if it hits a huffer, or amplifying other beast synergies to a huge degree.

If it does end up needing a nerf (which I’m not positive it will), I feel like the best way to go about it would be to lower the buff on the copies, as a +12/+12 buff for 4 mana is pretty darn amazing even when you have to draw into the buffed minions later.

Or up it to 5 mana. Rhino and hyena could be target too considering the trend of basis classic cards. But I hope they dun kill tt set further. So I am betting on dire frenzy.

Overall I feel there’s a better argument for Master’s Call getting nerfed instead of Dire Frenzy. And that is only if Hunter proves to be too powerful due to their options for card draw. Dire Frenzy (and Hunter in general) is a lot worse if you don’t have consistently good card draw.

That’s why frenzy and not Master’s Call will be nerfed if any. I also think getting +3/+3 charge minions without increase mana cost is kind of ridiculous since the card already has an impact on board directly.

“Master’s Call is the core issue, nerf Dire Frenzy!”

Prediction level : blizzard

Your prediction is wrong. We will sooner see Master’s Call nerfed to 4 mana. Dire Frenzy without Draw is a very meh card that is often dead in your hand. A card that is often dead is not anywhere on the nerf radar.

It kinda has to be nerfed because “Master’s call” kinda eliminated the downside of hunter: Card draw.
It’s fine to shuffle crazy stuff in AS LONG as you can’t draw like crazy.

Let’s just see if blizzard nerfing the 40 or 400 dust card lol

Good question. They will (most likely) nerf the common card when in actuality they should nerf the epic (card-draw in hunter … what is wrong with that new design team?! They seem to get EVERY class identity mixed-up these days).

Shuffling cards in your deck is really cheap stat-wise, though. Just look at Fal’dorei Strider - 4 mana 4/4, so still a playable body, and shuffles 12/12 worth of free stats. You don’t even have to play them.

4/4 is exactly like a 0-drop with +3/+3 from Dire Frenzy, the main difference being, with DF, you pick when you play your bonus stats, but you have to pay mana for them. I’d say that’s about equal exchange - control of deployment vs no cost; control gives flexibility, and that usually costs a bit extra - that’s why DF is initially 4 mana 3/3, and Strider is 4 mana 4/4.

Its too strong down at the high ranks when its so easy to get charge or rush on a beast. It should be 2 mana give a beast +3/3 shuffle 3 copies of the buffed minion into your deck.

but you cant…discover picks 3 diff cards so you can only get a buffed copy per m call

When I see these type of threads about other cards, the response is,

“It’s a class card: its supposed to be powerful.”
