Powercreep decks feel like it creates issues(WILD)

Let me use Big Shaman to illustrate my eventual point or just skip my rant and scroll to bottom.

I mean get a grip, 30/30 in bodies on board by turn 3 soonest, 5 at the very latest. Haha, nah. There is way too little viable counterplay here. A couple of silences wont cut it. You’d need to hardtech against them with a multitude of cards which in turn will get whooped by hyperaggro. The new cards released make sure by turn 6 you would need to play 2 hard board clears to clear the board they generated for their 6 mana in one turn, or eat 30+ face dmg next turn. Haha nah. Be honest. This is absolute bollocks and is only going to force people to play aggro priest, pirate dh and imbue/secret mage. Disclaimer, all of these decks are very strong at the moment and really choke the legend ranks EU in wild in a very unhealthy way. But, against hyperaggro you can build and have an ok win % against them because their boards are manageable. Big shaman’s board can only be “managed” if i go build a paladin deck with all the equalities, city tax, uthers gift, lord barov…simply 20/30 being half of a board clear combo. And itll still end up at a sub 50%.

Atleast hit their tutoring or mana cheats if you don’t want to handle the ridiculous disgusting way over the top low cost powercreep that atp has absolutely no equal for cost and consistency to board generation. Their board generation is so early and strong these days that they get it 2 turns before most decks actually have the mana to deal with them properly, so overwhelming them with vomiting everything on board by turn 2 feels like the only option, which is idiotic and about as strategic as Leeroy Jenkins whelp pull. And if you let them have anything on board for 1 turn you are better off conceding anyway (unless you’re a super fast OTK deck that has the golden draw ig, better pray that isnt a neptulon on board tho).

Hell even miracle rogue is either slower or atleast they play 20 cards tot generate f.e 4x8 the next turn which is atleast sub 40 instead of whatever crazy output a neptulon + reincarnate does for 2 cards while retaining better consistency for curve.

40% of shaman wins when playing this deck is the opponent just conceding the second their first minion gets on board and no immediate removal is available.

Isn’t the “high chance of auto concede if they play their combo” what OTK decks have once they drop their pieces? No, this meta it’s a turn 3-4 concede by a shaman summoning such absurd powercreeps that it will amount to an “OTK” so to speak, the very next turn.

And yes people, anyone can make a deck with dirty rats(bring some removal tho lol), watchposts, weapon removal etc. You’ll be able to stall a bit but their ressurection capacity is big enough that by turn 7-8 your tech is pretty much useless and now you’re lacking in removal tools while you’ll need A. LOT. to deal with of even 1 minion enters the ressurect pool.

I have gotten the feeling lately that the insane playrate of aggro priest and similar decks that just vomit and melt you at Mach 7 is heavily caused by decks like this. Who actually likes playing 100 games with an aggro priest or pirate DH? Either simpletons that put winning over fun or players who feel like they have to play these decklists to stand a chance against a couple other oppressive decks. I guess this is that “rock papers scissors” thing that’s been discussed so much. However let’s say:

Rock = aggro
Paper = OTK
Scissors = powercreep (big sham, flood pala, miracle Rogue)

Can we honestly say that over the years the rules have remained the same and say

paper>rock
rock> scissors
scissors>paper

Cause i honestly feel like over the past 5 years of even more:

Rock became a Boulder
Paper has been getting their behind kicked by Boulder more than vice versa
Scissors VS Boulder is a constant coinflip

Can we debate this last part?
Despite my undeniable grudge for big shamans and similar decks i’d like to know how others experience the rock papers scissors theory.

Oh, look! The toxic trend of giving Pally the most broken cards each expansion for >2 years has finally caught fire in Wild.

It was a matter of time, I’m afraid.

As a paladin player (but not the flood aggro, just the occasional Wrath or homebrew anti-aggro lists) i cant deny some of these paladin lists are waaaaay too quick to be considered balanced.

But when comparing to the big shaman i was mentioning im afraid, even flood pala comes online at 5 with coin 6 without, while shaman will be 3 or 4 with coin, 4 or 5 without. And then they get flattened the next turn.

Oh, I see

Yes, I can see it on hsguru in top1k as 8th best deck with a sample of 250 min

2.3% played only, but the meta is quite diverse (or hasn’t yet formed, rather) so it’s not a clear outlier statistically

You’re probably just getting countered here, but we’ll see

Oh i can tell you the meta in upper 500 wild legend from experience right now.(EU)

If it’s not an aggro priest, it’s a big shaman or a Discolock. Everything else is so rare in comparison that the 2 reno warriors, 5 flood palas and 7 secret mages out of 100 games are barely worth mentioning

Well, that’s a confirmation then  I always like to know if there are people whose experience aligns with that the stats say

So abuse it, then xD Until it’s fixed xD Blow in the direction you want the wind to change into, and it might just happen!

I don’t know what else to tell you

It’s too early to make definitive conclusions about these things in both Wild and Standard, sub or over top 500

I am “abusing” it in a way i guess.
This mostly means im using some meme paladin decklist that would do horrible on the climb to legend.
It’s a bit similar to a libram paladin except i don’t flood the board (too slow VS priest) but have Immortal Prelates (deathrattle shuffles back in your deck and keeps any buffs) and literally 16 pieces that any combination of 2 makes a board clear from 4 mana as a cheapest (equality + city tax)

I basically just tank 2-3 turns on 40hp and then play 5 full board clears back to back and if it gets to 9-10 mana ill have a Prelate with taunt, lifesteal and enough stats to give him PTSD. Add Lynessa, Liadrin and Cariel legendaries to it with a libram package and you got a 2012 ahh archetype that somehow performs well at upper legend but horrible anywhere else.

I hate this game.

Yeah, that sounds mega-boring. I hope the % work in your favor to climb some more, then, to make it worth

Not much else I can tell ya

It’s alright. The playstyle is linear and boring, but the consistency is there and the joy comes from the copy paste aggro priests and other hyperaggro emote spamming of all kinds after they realize this goofy list is going to deny them any tempo after turn3

Precious!

But that might change as they adapt, it sounds to me like too high of a rank to allow for slow changes

But I don’t know from experience, never played Wild

Maybe it just dies out because it’s too boring to play, it has been known to happen

Likely, by the end of the month ill meet less of certain decks and more of others. Always been this way in Wild.
