I was playing a game a few minutes ago in Wild, I was the 2nd player, it was turn 4, I played the coin, and an Innervate to get to 6 mana, I then play my doomkin, end my turn. He still has 5 mana, and I am at 4, when my turn comes again, I am at 5, but I should be at 6 and he should have been at 4 on his turn.
You were at 4 mana.
You played the coin and Innervate to get to 6 mana.
You steal 1 mana crystal to add 1 mana to your 4 “permanent” mana crystals which brings you to 5 mana since the coin and Innervate are not permanent.
4+1=5.
Everything is working as intended.
But I didn’t get 5 mana until my next turn, my turn should have ended with 5 mana and my opponent should have started his turn with 4 mana not 5. It did not work has it normally does.
Did you play against a Druide? They can generate mana crystals.
No it was a shaman I believe. (Correction: Warlock)
I think the mana crystal I stole from my opponent went into the temporary mana crystal pool and then was removed when I ended my turn. That is not how I thought doomkin worked. Normally, if I start my turn 6 with 6 mana, and play doomkin, I now have 7 mana, and then on my turn 7 I would get a new mana crystal and be at 8. Is that not how it is suppose to work?
You’re right. You also gain a new mana crystal at the start of the turn.
Do you happen to have a replay of this game?
I do. https://hsreplay.net/replay/DvmcHDMRZ3MxVBSdFmomxU
Now I see the issue.
Doomkin takes an “empty” mana crystal from the oppenent. But when you played Doomkin your opponent did not use any of his mana the previous turn. His mana was full.
Since he had no empty crystals Doomkin could not take a crystal and the battlecry did nothing.
Oh, well I was not aware of that. Thank you for explaining that. That was not something I’d run across before. Well good to know for future games.
