Positioning in battlegrounds

How do you position your battleground minions? I know there are variables involved, but are there any basics you can tell me about? Generally, if i have the +1/1 or the divine shield death rattles, they go first. I’m not sure if its best to have my highest attack up front, or second because of the possibility of divine shield. I’m looking for genuine help and appreciate any advice given.

In general highest attack first specially in the early game.
When you expect enemy will get a lot of value from a divine shield taunt (which is reasonably late in the game) you can place a small minion first (though if enemy has 2 taunts it then becomes a 50/50 again and you lose tempo in the attack order).
Minions that you want to die like spawn of nzoth, the shield giver or the great wulf first. Lategame you sometimes want the shieldgiver somewhere else but that is situational (for example when you have several divine shields yourself, you want them to disappear first before re-applying the shield).
Boombot not always first though I guess this is debatable,it can get better value if it does attack a bit later.
When you have a warleader and no taunts you probably want your murlocs first even if they have slightly lower attack then your other minions, this to increase the change they get value from the warleader.
Big cleaves usually not first, you want to get max value from them and not only take of 1 shield from the taunt at the edge. But you also want them to attack before the enemy has a change to kill them so they shouldn’t be in the back either (which is before all your taunts have died usually).
Sometimes it comes down to 1 position with cleaves,1 earlier or 1 later might make the difference between win or loose. If you fight enemy twice you can adjust for the specific lineup of your opponent.

High attack up first early on when there are few divine shields, behind a chump attack late in the game when there’s 30/30 amalgams start showing up. I like to put the taunts on the right side so they last longer and don’t crash into the other guy’s megataunts/poison taunts. Cleaves I’ll often put up early to break shields and to make sure they attack before they die to attacks.

Position is really subtle when you’re mechs and trying to keep shields up for your Cobalt Guardians.

Strongest minion infront unless against daryl, weakest infront strongest 2nd. That’s early game.

Mid game always keep a divine shield popper infront. If you have one taunt, far right with a weak minion beside it to take cleave damage. Against daryl is always weak follow by poison.

If using cobalt guardian, a mecharoo or golem right after it is good. Put them as 2nd and 3rd minion to minimise cobalt dying.

Except daryl, need be careful about rafaam too. If you are nerferian, just weakest poison infront.

Against daryl, cleave work v well as first to wipe divine shield. Against default divine taunt in the corner, weak minion beside it to take cleave, use your weak minion first follow by poison then cleave for maximum cleave.

Early game if you have a good roll, put highest tier minion last to maximise damage. Killing people fast avoid them coming back to haunt you.

Alot possible situation, learn and adapt.

Here is my rule of thumb:

Early games (before tier 4): always put higher attack first (poisonous minions have infinite attack so they will always be on the left). If two minions have the same attack, I put the one with less health first (to increase the chance of survival for the higher-health one).

Mid/Late game: Start to put one or two weaker minions on the far left to break shield (cleave is wonderful here). Other minion’s arrangement is still the same as early game

A note for Mid/Late game is that you should have never used the above general rule besides the first fight. Always taking screenshot of your opponent’s comp to figure out the best position. For example if your opponent has a 30-health taunt on the way, you don’t want to jam two of your 29-attack minions to it. In this case it’s better to pair one 29-attack minion and one 1-attack minion to maximize efficiency.
