Please let us get old event skins

If it is a portrait that entails exclusivity, it should not be possible to acquire them in any way. I was told, when I purchased a mega bundle, that this portrait (N’Zoth) and card back were exclusive to that purchase. It is unethical if the team decides to begin selling/releasing these skins. It breaks the agreement.

^^^This.

The parameters of the acquisition of said Portrait/ Card Back/ promo cosmetic, are spelled out clearly when it is offered. If this is a One Time Only, better buy it now or forever hold your peace, type scenario, then no, they shouldnt re-offer them again in the future. If you werent a HS player when Heroes of the Storm came out then you missed out on claiming the unique FLying Carpet Mount that was textured to look like a Hearthstone card instead of a carpet. I have no idea if it is still available to unlock it, but I would find it extremely devalued if suddenly whenever a new wave of players came into the HS playerbase, that suddenly a spike of new HotS players also had that what used to be rare hearthstone flying carpet/card mount. Again, i have no idea if it is indeed still unlockable to anyone to this day but for my example purposes lets assume it isnt. If that were to change, the value of owning that perk goes down dramatically. Giving me less reason to purchase anything cosmetic in the future if the “limited time only” offers can eventually be overturned so easily. So by offering them again for gold would probably result in a net loss of purchases in general by the playerbase over time as they now can bank on getting it later on for gold/free.

Now I am not against them offering them all for irl money, and only during the megabundles or promotional times of the expansion they belong to, being on sale for a very attractive price. When all that is over and we are past that and well into or past the next expansion: still let it be available for money, just make it’s “not on sale, standard price” be something moderately high like $25. whereas it was only $7 when bought during the promo time, or even less than $5 when bought in the megabundle. etc.

If there is a fun skin you really want, youll buy it because its there and youve got the money.

You do NOT purchase event skins with money. They are FREE.
Snowman Thrall, Tavish, Flame Malfurion were all FREE.

well, that was a lie: they sold mechajaraxxus after the bundle.

“exclusive” only meant “there are no other ways to obtain it”; but I don’t recall them saying “it will never be available again” (correct me if they did).

the point of these cosmetics is to encourage people to log in even if they don’t care.
I missed the 30 years card back, because I had no interest in playing the game for 2 months and I didn’t open it till the next expansion.

I could have simply open it, claim it and log out, but I really didn’t care about the game and a cosmetic wasn’t enough for me to waste 2 minutes :joy:

By not giving cosmetics at any time, they make sure that people who aren’t like me will play the game even when they don’t want; or alternatively, they buy cosmetics even if they don’t like them.
If today a new skin “Limited time” comes out, I bet many people would buy it only because they fear they may want it in the future; if it was always available, they will sell less skins.
On the other hand, more people who actually like the skin will buy it in the future.

It seems they prefer to “make money out of the fear of missing cosmetics” rather than “make money because people like the game and want a particular item”.
It makes sense if you put a short term gain above the players happiness, so I am not surprised blizzard is doing this.

On a side note: I think very specific cosmetics, like the 30 year card back, should never be released again; its puprose is to celebrate a one in a life time event, if you missed it (I missed it), who cares.
I don’t know if even skins should fall in the same category, but probably yes (if it was for me, the skins you listed aren’t really special and could be sold or given for free)

I don’t want to argue semantics. However, when a buddle specific states that this portrait and or card back is exclusive to this bundle, the obvious implication is that there is and won’t be any other way of acquiring said items.

I don’t want to argue what “exclusive” means. However, most people read that and believe, as I do, that these items cannot be obtained any other way. And they shouldn’t be.

Without arguing semantics, did we know for sure blizzard used “exclusive” like “it will never come back in the future”?

Because judging by how they make keywords, “exclusive” may have a special meaning that only blizzard knows :joy:

Well, yeah, it was blatantly stated in the description. What they’re doing is unethical.

You’re probably right in way. I don’t believe that it’s that they have a special definition of “exclusive”. I think they just don’t care about going back on the agreement.

Not just event skins: Please give us Yrel and Second War Uther for gold! (I know Uther was in the shop, but sadly I was to late.) Would be so nice to add them to my collection…

Offer them real money for completing your collection. I bet you’ll get what you want then.

I’ve paid for skins like Dame Hazelbark in the past.

Guess what?

When they added it for gold I was happy for other people who wanted it.

What I’m asking for was FREE in the first place but add older paid skins too!
