Please, enlighten me!

There is one thing I really don´t understand about this community. But let me tell you something about me first - keep reading, I promis it will make (kinda) sense in the end.

I hate soccer. I think it is most boring, useless and overpriced piece of garbage ever invented. It is full of corruption and the amount of money flowing into that “thing” is beyond ridiculous. Imagine if same amount of money would be dedicated to - I don´t know - something like science or medicine or education. It is also hard to avoid since it is everywhere - in the news, in the papers, hell we have whole sport channels dedicated to the soccer.

But there is one thing I DON´T do - I don´t go to the soccer forums to tell people who actualy like the game how much the game is piece of garbage and that if they like that they sucks and they lives are miserable and that they should feel bad. In fact, to keep my sanity intact, I try to avoid anything related to that stupid game for any cost. It is hard sometimes, but the point is - I willingly chose NOT to participate in any discussion, event or actual game of soccer and I tell you something - it is actualy good for both parties involved.

Now, there is this thing I dont understand about Hearthstone community and especially this forum. It is full of hate and disdain for the game. It is OK to not like or even hate something, but why is there such huge need to yell about it all the time? If the game is inducing so much of negative feelings, surely it would be wise to stop doing the activity which cause the issues? Are you addicted and can´t help yourself? Then I think it is time to seek professional help.

Last thing - it is fine to post negative comments in the form of constructive criticism, but this is very seldom here. It is all the rage and venom.

This analogy is not good.

In this situation the Hearthstone player would be the player in the game not a bystander such as you in your analogy. Of course it’s easier in your situation to be apathetic because you are just watching from the side lines.

Hell, in this situation you aren’t even in the stadium watching the game, you are just a random guy outside the stadium that doesn’t like football, of course you are gonna be apathetic towards the sport and not complain about it, because it doesn’t matter to you.

But since we are actively involved in the game it’s understandable to feel cheated if something happens that in your eyes wasn’t fair, so you come here to complain about the topic and see if people agree or disagree with your opinion.

Forums are not full of hate, because criticizing the game isn’t hateful. It actually shows that the person complaining wants to see the game become better.

Trust me, the day that people stop complaining about the game, will be the day the game actually dies.

To be fair, it has happened many times, IRL, on discord…

You talk to a group of friends, the topic of last night champion’s league game comes up, and you have this person who doesn’t like football and feels the need to tell you how stupid it is that football players are paid millions to run after a ball for a living.

Like, we didn’t ask for your opinion dude. So yeah, even in football, you get some people who feel entitled to tell you how your hobby is stupid.

Well, for one as proved by previous commenters you’re comparison is silly.

For the other your assessment of the situation is very bad faith. It’s not all rage and venom and there are many people commenting with consttuctive criticism. Not that it matters that much because devs are not involved on the forums in any way as far as we know.

Because a majority of people still playing are addicted and can’t quit, even if they want it from the bottom of their hearts.

Interesting analogy.
In my mind I would compare it more to the hard core casino the house always wins kind of style.
But this works too.

Ok Karen. it’s time to mind your own business and stop telling what other have to do according to you.

What is really annoying when others think they have RIGHT over other people what should and shouldn’t they do.

LOL, I already bursted in laugh considering the irony of this reply comming from someone like you…

If you read what you quoted more carefully, you’ll see that it’s actually written as two questions and then an opinion, not as an instruction.

I think the difference is that you hate soccer, where as people who post here do have a passion and love for hearthstone

If bafflement has taught me anything. It’s the people who say they’re going to quit RIGHT NOW, every day!

Who seem to stay 4-10 paradoxial years longer. The cause is unknown. But i do have to say the gambling was more entertaining when it was fresh, and mindlesslessly addictive. Vs boring and routine.

I do actually have to say not having that card addiction response but sheer apathy is actually very mundane. It ruins the fun. Like going from a kid dreaming about ufos and letters from hogwarts to doing the laundry.

At the same time. Seeing runescape staking addicts begin to credit card 1000$s to fund a virtual gambling addiction is a nice relief to know i skipped. And having a wide range of cards to play with, both wild, brawl, standard and deckbuilding and pve is fun.

Video games are meant for fun after all. They’re not life or death.

At the same time. I am overall disapointed with blizzard as a company. But not because i thought they wronged me by making video games.

But because it clearly feels like they clearly have the capability to easily do better. Yet choose not to.

(Wc3 refunded, more content shown in beta THAN release. Teasing what COULD be made… Then skipping on it to cut costs and optimize profits.)

I dunno if hearthstone had that, but wod and bfa wow clearly did. Wc3 refunded clearly did. Diablo 3 to immortal clearly did. Ow1 being a 50$ game to 20$ a skin and spending 4 years to release a pve with less features than the beta did.

Tracer and genji were clearly intended to have been added to pve with pve talents in mind,

(reload upon blink, blink damages, chain pulse bombs, killing hastens cds, recall causes a explosion, leveling, etc.)

Its not that they couldn’t make it . its that they took the money. But chose not to. (Despite being able.) That feels frusterating and dissapointing from the old blizzard standard.

The only thing I got from this post is this is an alt account or a Blizz employee

At least that’s throwing you a bone since this post(what is it, a statement?) seems nothing but a ladle to stir the pot. I find it ironic you seem to TRY and represent a more positive side to forums, yet you come here and post stuff like:

It’s rude and condescending. You may not be into the game, but you’re not being any better than the people for whom this message is intended. Not to mention other comments you make, such as:

or:

So, don’t come here preaching and “wondering” why when you are among those who add their own negative spice to the pot.

Yes, I am toxic and I know about that. I don´t care. But, please, explain to me one thing:

Why this is rude? If someone is addicted to anything and it is clearly showing… do you think it is not good idea to seek professional help? I have my own experience with addiction, I luckily could get rid of it by myself. But I know a lot of people who couldn´t. So what is wrong to advice them to seek professional??

If you truly are being helpful, I’ll retract what I said there; however, you don’t have a lot legs here since you preceded this with

So, I’m inclined not to believe you.

90% of the hate on the Hearthstone forums come from about 10-15 people that have been here for years, most of us know who they are and avoid interacting with them. I think the majority of people are fine and complaining here and there isn’t a problem, its just the small handful of people that ruin it with excessive complaining and argumentative/ bullying comments on other’s posts. Not naming anyone in particular but we all know who they are.

This is a horrible analogy and an even worse take. You can criticize something without hating it; and it’s usually the people who love the game the most and want it to be the best who criticize the most.
