If you play shudderblock into Mind Control Tech it doesn’t allow you to choose 3 targets, even if the opponent still has over 4 minions on the board. It just whiffs the 2 times after the initial battlecry.
This is not a bug. With shudderblock, the battlecry with a target is always cast 3 times on the same target. It used to steal several minions because it didn’t need a target.
When has Shudderblock ever allowed you to choose different targets for the triple battlecry?
You might be right on the targeting, I’m not sure there would be an interaction where you would choose again. But surely it should take control of a random minion right? I’m pretty sure that if I played chatty macaw after playing a mind control tech it would choose a random one instead of not being able to take one.
You mean Brilliant macaw ?
There’s a difference between triggering the same targeted battlecry three times, and triggering 3 times the battlecry to trigger a separate instance of another battlecry with a random target
No. Mind Control Tech was changed a while ago.
It’s targeted now. It no longer steals a random minion.
I did mean brilliant macaw, thanks for the correction! I think after looking over the different cards the difference is the wording of triggering versus repeat. Triggering a battlecry means that it’ll choose the same target based on whatever was initially chosen and I don’t think anything “retriggers” something on a separate card, repeat just skips that target phase and just chooses randomly. I’m not sure that there’s a difference other than those that between the keywords but I guess that’s why they’re separate lol.
There’s also the fact that being able to manually pick multiple targets when playing a single card is a very recent mechanic
While I understand this interaction doesn’t currently work due to game limitations, it would be great if it were updated so that it does.
To a player it makes intuitive sense that the targeted battle cry should be repeated, and it’s disappointing when it doesn’t repeat at all.
I think you are confused about the game terms.
Shudderblock does not say “repeat”; it says “trigger”.
This means the battlecry operates on the same target three times. New targets are not chosen.
And in the specific case of Mind Control Tech, that means you can only steal one minion, because after stealing it once you obviously cannot steal that same minion again.
