So, I guess Blizzard isn’t going to fix their own bug as this been out there a while. Today though I do think I may have finally noticed a pattern because sometimes I get the soldier when I play the card and sometimes I don’t. I’ve been playing around this bug for quite a while now.
If you play the haunted cards in the order in which they are haunted then you will get your soldier. If you have multiple haunted cards in your hand and you play one of the haunted cards that wasn’t the first to be haunted out of those cards then that will bug all haunted cards in your hand and you won’t get the soldier when you play any of them.
At that point you have to rid your hand of all haunted cards. After you do that it’s like something resets and you can once again haunt cards and get your soldier if and only if you play them in the order in which they’re haunted.
It gets tricky if a card gets double haunted. That card will only produce multiple soldiers if the haunt order is right. So let’s say three haunted nightmare’s get killed at once. If haunt #1 gets assigned to one card, haunt #2 assigned to another, but then haunt #3 comes back and haunts the same card haunt #1 did. If that happens you’re screwed. You can’t play them in order now. When you try to play the card that was haunted first it will try to trigger #1 then #3 and that will bug out. So no soldiers will be produced until you get rid of both haunted cards in your hand and re-haunt something else.
Hope that makes sense.

Can you replicate this? Maybe in some friendly matches or against the innkeeper? They haven’t fixed it because they can’t track it down. If you can solve the mystery you’ll be every aggro priest’s hero.
You’re right - I should try this against the innkeeper. I almost forgot that was even there lol.

As long Haunted cards aren’t popular. Blizzard won’t fix it.
Definitely try to replicate this versus the innkeeper. They haven’t even acknowledged the bug and it’s been out there for a while now. The card is basically unplayable. The bug happens so often. Again, it’s insulting they won’t acknowledge the bug and all reports get ignored.
I noticed that the bug happens a lot whenever you play a card that has an effect that will go off. The effect seems to delay the code and then the code for the haunt never goes off.
whoever told you this was lying they told us they know about the bug but are unable to reproduce consistently and thats the reason it hasnt been fixed yet

It has never been in their known bugs radar in the bug report forum.
This is from about a month ago, confirming that it is on their radar:

Of course, Twitter. God forbid they put the bug on the official “known bugs” list on their official forums. What a joke.
What’s the point of an official known bugs list if they don’t even use it properly? The forums are constantly filled with Haunting Nightmare bugs because it’s not on the official list.

thats…good
because they want people to keep posting about the bug to find out how to reproduce it
