Plague insta counters sludge

i just played a game as sludge lock, and apparently every time a death knight shuffles a plague card into your deck, it also reshuffles your entire deck. this makes the sludge archtype almost impossible, as it revolves around stacking sludges on the bottom of your deck, and pretty much means an instant loss if you see a plague knight. this is just not fun. bliz, please make it so that when a plague is shuffled into the deck, its just stuck in there somewhere randomly, there is no reason to make it reshuffle the entire deck, that ruins all kinds of dredge and sludge strategies completely, and not in a fun counter way, like the occasional deck scrubber, its like an every turn thing, it just makes those keywords not work if they happen to be fighting plagues.

Not 100% sure since I am not a virgin, but I believe anything that shuffles something new into your deck, reshuffles it.

This matters in duels a lot. We still got bombs yo.

Yeah its a counter, this is a rock paper scissors game

Yes, that’s how it works and that’s how it should work.

What does your list look like? There are two established versions of Sludge Warlock and neither of them really care that much about deck shuffling.

Agree, most lists have two steam cleaners and the card that discards your hand so it don’t matter if ya draw em. Might slow down the combo though if ya drawing the sludges

As said by others, when a card is “shuffled” into a deck it usually means the deck gets reshuffled.

One exception is cards that say they’re put at the bottom of your deck, but I think the wording then doesn’t say shuffle, but that the card gets… put into bottom of the deck.

While I’m here, tradeable cards get slotted anywhere in the deck (but I assume not the next card, but I cannot confirm), but the rest of the deck does not get shuffled. This is why one can do something like dredge then trade, and you know you’ll get the card you choose from dredge.

That’s why plague decks are played, they counter a lot of meta decks.

I play sludge warlock and almost never lose to plague DK. Steam cleaner is pretty debilitating to their game plan.

Granted I don’t play the cards that rely on the sludges being on the bottom, except the 7/7 demons, but if you have those in hand and play them on curve, it’s very hard for plague DK to answer them anyway.

So maybe try tweaking your list a bit?

rough.

ok now imagine you’re playing singleton so you can use Reno, which means you probably only get one chance to play Steamcleaner, how frustrating would that be?

imagine your whole deck archetype foiled by some dorky long-hair nepotism baby (Arthas the DK)
