Plagiarize reads “At the end of your opponent’s turn, add copies of the cards they played to your hand.” I’m in the arena on turn 7 and I don’t want to give my opponent any cards, so I end my turn. But plagiarize doesn’t trigger. It reads that it will trigger at the end of my turn, not that “if your opponent played any cards, add copies of them to your hand.” Given that I played no cards it should have triggered and given my opponent nothing. Instead, it doesn’t trigger, and I have to give them a card anyways as well as skip a turn to find out that the card is misleading. I’m quite annoyed.
Secrets with a start-of-turn effect will not trigger if the effect does nothing. An example of this is from the 2015 Paladin Secret Competitive Spirit " Secret: When your turn starts, give your minions +1/+1." which will only trigger if you have 1 or more minions on board. In the same way, Plagiarize only triggers if there is 1 or more cards played during your opponent’s turn, so that it ends up giving you something, otherwise Plagiarize waits for the next turn that has cards played in it.

why did you even think that? each card in HS only works if it meets certain conditions. have you ever played HS?
