Plagiarize + bazaar burglary = broken

I can’t believe “plagiarize” has made it though testing.
Even when it turned up in my collection, i was questioning the fact it was printed.

Any one else feel that blizzard has completely lost their way with hearthstone?

bazaar burglary and plagiarize vs a spell deck in early game just feels wrong. Simply because of how quick the quest can be completed, On top of the fact that they gain cards you’ve just played straight to hand.

All I can say about Plagiarize is one time I figured out that’s what the Rogue was using, so I played as many Librams of Wisdoms as I possibly could to fill his hand with 2 mana versions of it and he conceded as soon as he had a full hand of cards he can’t ever get rid of. Made me chuckle pretty well.

Nice to read some people are getting results, against this “cheap” card.
If the cards sent to hand became dormant for X turns, i wouldn’t mind as much.

It’s not any faster than Quest into double Clever Disguise. Quest Rogue has always been able to complete the quest quickly, and it hasn’t really helped the archetype go beyond meme status.

I’ve been messing around with quest rogue this expansion, few thoughts…

a. Quest completion can be absurdly fast - most of the time I can use the new hero power on turn 3 or 4. Wand Thief, Cat (sometimes), Transfer Student (sometimes), Dragon’s Hoard, Clever Disguise, Pilfer, Hanar & a Secret, & Plagiarize - combine to give tremendous redundancy as well as generating a ton of value.

b. Plagiarize can be a very punishing secret, the dream i guess is to be in a good board state already and then just dare your opponent to play cards. - likewise if your opponent really wants to play out a big power turn - they run the risk of just handing you their best stuff. I do expect that Plagiarize is about as good as it will ever be now esp at the less than gold ranks haven’t learned to full play around it yet

c. Overall quest rogue feels like a real deck, certainly not tier 1, but still better than just a meme. You have a few paths to victory - big questings / edwins, recurring value of secrets and the new hero power, and whatever sort of rng weirdness you discovered along the way.

The interaction that really ticked me off was Clever Disguise into Secret Passage: turns out that, when you get the cards back at the end of your turn, it counts as two more cards getting “Added to your hand”, thus completing the quest.

That’s not really any different than how Plot Twist counts towards quest progression, though. I mean, it’s internally consistent.

The Warlock quest requires to “Draw cards” though and Plot Twist explicitly states that it makes the player draw cards (also, it was plenty obvious that PT was designed with the quest in mind).

Secret Passage just puts the same cards back into the hand. I guess it counts as the cards getting “added to your hand” (which is why the quest completes I guess), but it feels like a much more unexpected (and potentially unintended) interaction.

(Again, emphasis feels. It may be exactly what the devs intended to happen).

cant you just play 1 spell to trigger the secret and give them only 1 card?

I have found in my testing that you can also complete it really fast with secret passage as well, it only takes 2 alt-class cards in hand with passage to finish the quest when it triggers at the end of the turn and puts them back. With dragons hord, wand thief and clever disguise it can be done pretty consistently on turn 2 or 3.

With those three plus the Hench-Clan Burglar conbind with the double dipping via secret passage witch you would run anyway ( cough, this card is so good, cough) you really don’t need pledgerize, which I find slow and inconsistent.

Blade dancer and cutting class have been suprisingly good. With Deadly poison and Vulpera Toxinblade cutting class is often free and blade dancer can summon 5 and less frequently even 7 drops.

Wand thief into evocation is just a fast way to finish it too, still not the most broken thing you can be facing at say turn 4 by far.

It counts those 2 cards twice?? If that’s true then yeah, that’s pretty freakin’ lame

confirmed, why would it not, they are shuffled into your deck then added back to your hand at the end of the turn.

I have been wanting that deck to work again for a while now, is kinda my pet deck, so I’m Jazzed for the inadvertent extra bump it got with SP.

As long as you’re happy I guess

Hah of all of the cards in the set, Plagiarize is the one you choose to complain about? Against any opponent who isn’t an idiot, that secret is basically always going to be worse Dirty Tricks, it will only give you max of 2 cards (it takes that many for opponent to figure out for sure what secret it is), and instead of being cards from your deck, they are (likely) low impact cards from opponents deck, making it just worse Dirty Tricks.

Quest rogue is trash who cares.
