This is a random bg related post, but I rarely see anyone go pirate, and if they do, they are always knocked out fairly quickly. I feel like they cannot compete. I always either pick beast, undead, or mechs (sometimes dragon) the other classes (other than quilboar) just don’t feel too strong to me. Let me rephrase that, when I play bg, I rarely see anyone do good with classes outside of the ones I mentioned above. I feel like they need to rework some of the types tbh
Pirates is apm.
yeah pirates suck, I managed to get 3 golden greymane champions and 2 golden fleet admirals (thanks to rockmaster voone + golden buddies + drakki enchanter) and even with insane APM I could only get my minions to +400+/400 vs. a golden brann + murloc + taunt battlecry trigger board which autobuffs the board and was much stronger than mine.

It’s true that pirates (and elementals) are rarely played.
It all depends on your hero + companion and if you’re lucky in the tavern and who you fight against but it’s valid for all types.
That’s just a Nathanos build. When you have that with an undead build you can make minions that are WAY bigger.
Apm is the reason i stopped playing battlegrounds. If i wanted apm to be important id play an rts or a shooter not a turn based card game.
Plus the problem with apm builds is you have to get lucky enough to go infinite and if you do go infinite you get to play a billion more gold worth of stuff than whoever else is in the lobby. It just creates too many imbalances that create unwinnable situations for other players. I think the gamemode would be better if there was a cap on the amount of actions you could take in a turn. Or just dont let infinite gold be a thing because it breaks the game for any other kind of build trying to compete with infinite builds

Even quillboar is apm if you get the quilboar hero with golden buddy “every time you get a blood gem add two more.”
