Pirates everywhere!

Currently in Diamond 2 and it is just pirates and agro EVERYWHERE. I get that it is start of the new climb, but good lord! I literally can’t remember the last time I did not see an agro deck. Not complaining, just surprised.

Most players are tryharding with extremely refined netdecks inside top diamond (and most of them play badly when they go Legend).

There’s no much you can do than play good decks yourself,

and stay calm after a loss.

This issue is that there is no reason to play anything end game anymore. Why play anything big when Rogue can just take it with Griftah. Right now the goal is to get lethal in before the combo deck does.

It’s not rogue specific. E.g. if I play flood pala I rarely see round 7. I mean if I see it it means I usually lost.

Weapon rogue can end games by turns 6-7 with extreme ease. Cycle Rogue can fill the board with 8/8s in the same amount of time. Starship Rogue can launch double startships by 7. Swarm Shaman, Swarm Pally, Zarimi Priest, and some outliers also want the game over by then.

Nothing special to rogue then. You mentioned yourself 3 more classes.

You should see the speed of pain lock before the last nerf.

Never said anything was special. Just stating I saw a lot of pirates.

So is it like a degenerate aggro meta right now?
What we need is a control meta for sure…

Unfortunately, no…

If it was, I’d still be rocking it with one of the Warlock decks

What this is, is just a class left untouched to be broken on purpose.

Shaman has combos which just cannot be stopped by any of the normal, fun decks

It takes pure cancer to beat it, and unfortunately, that’s what’s gonna be all that is unless Shaman finally gets nerfed

He is pretty spot on here. Unless you are running location destruction it is possible for 7 charge pirates to hit the board with zero way to interact with them. Sigil+Cliffside+Bloodlust is only really stopped by an early unKiliax.

That’s really unfortunate. Hate to see it. I bet a lot of players are suddenly playing Shaman .
I don’t know the appeal of just rushing to the most degenerate and broken decks. It really ruins the mode in my opinion.

If I saw correctly, Shaman is about 30% of the field right now.

So it’s not an aggro deck though , right?
I have not seen it myself so then I guess it’s some sort of combo they pull off that canny if stopped?
Why was this deck not a problem like a week ago ? Something has changed .

its agro that has a combo it can do.

Yeah, it is actually aggro, but not the usual aggro which either kills you fast or finds itself out of resources and loses

This one can go the extra mile for you

And some of the combos are just unstoppable:

  1. Sigil of skydiving into Bloodlust turn 5 with a coin or turn 6
  2. Sigil or Gorgonzoa spell for 3 minions + Zilliax or + Bloodlust
  3. or they clear your board, fill up their own in the same turn and then play bloodlust or nostalgia (6 mana transform spell)
  4. They can even Sigil into Conductivity + triple Rag, unstoppable
  5. Or just chill back, relax, and let you build a board, and then they 6 mana weapon + coin + 2 mana conductivity + 3 mana Skirting death for up to 30 dmg OTK.
  • a billion of smaller, but not insignificant interactions

You can literally put any of those in your deck and expect to cruise into high legend

It puts you in impossible positions where you’re damned if you play, damned if you don’t

It’s still a low-HP-board deck. A traditional warrior wrecks it, and the same does a typical DK.

I prefer using drone deconstructor + both buffs (jam session/trusty companion) + brass elemental. Also turn the tides as it turns horn into 12-18 damage rather than 6 and is flexible otherwise on earlier turns.

But theres so many different ways to build aggro shaman right now.
