Pirates and Elementals are Weak as hell!

Its amazing how you Need to have a mega board by turn 5 or 6 or die. Pirates and Elementals don’t stand a chance anymore and even Dragons suck its all Murlocs, Beasts and Naga that just Destroy the Lobby every time. Blizzard needs to Buff pirates and Elementals seriously you have to be very lucky to stand a chance with Pirates or Elementals. Battlegrounds just isn’t the same anymore.

Elementals are one of the strongest once you pull it of.

Many of then literally reduce costs for refresh , get a extra gold and things like that.

You’re supposed to use those to find your way into bringing the important high tier elementals earlier so you can abuse their massive late game power.

They get GIGANTIC and deal a ton of damage giving your opponent little room for winning other than being faster.

Yes Once you pull it off, But You need the right Hero with the right Lobby ( Lobby that is scaling slowly) and with the right amount of Luck to pull that off but if its a Beast or Naga Lobby then you can forget about that. Scaling with Elementals or Pirates is simply way too slow given that all the other Tribes can scale fast very early on.

Yes. They start scalling sooner.

That is the challenge. To pull it off in a way you survive long enough or get to it faster than intended.

I agree with you that yes its a challenge to scale but there is No Balance at all, while Elementals and Pirates are having a hard time scaling Beasts and Naga just breeze through the Lobby. Blizzard needs to do a Balance Update. It shouldn’t be a challenge just to stand a chance let alone win with them. Quilbore and U

Sure but beasts players end up getting each other minions because of it’s popularity.

The thing with BG is that if you enter a game with a plan in mind you’re already behind.

You’re supposed to get what your plan is as you play with “safe” options existing so the game does not turn into a highroll fest.
Still i don’t really see a problem with elementals the way they are right now and maybe pirates should get buffs but they are complicated to balance properly without breaking the mode.

Most reliable winning chance: Demons and Beasts (if not oversaturated)
Most potential winning chance: Pirates, Demons and Elementals
Most explosive (scams) winning chance: Murlocs

Most likely to fall flat on its face (5th, 6th, 7th or 8th): Murlocs, Elementals and Naga

It really all depends on your hero power but demons tend to be the safest option currently as long as you don’t miss out on the minion that safeguards your face against self damage at an early enough stage.

Pirates have the most potential in the game. If you get the APM going, you can reach ridiculous levels of gold which in turn has both attack and health support from 2 different pirates. With the addition of a pirate cleave whose health is easily boosted, it can lead to absolutely crushing boards. 40 gold to spend a turn has a tendency to just turbo charge your board.

But you should only really consider either demons or pirates IF Naga are present in the game. Rotating in divine shield as and when you need it from the siren is perhaps the biggest winning factor for these race’s boards. Divine shield allows you to minimize the impact of scam boards against your vulnerable minions.

I just got Destroyed a by a Lobby full of Beast players, mean·while my tiny pirate board stood no chance lol. I know what you mean by have a plan in mind and just go with the flow when it doesn’t work but one of the biggest issues in BGs right now is how fast people tend to high roll and often more then ever its either Beasts or Naga or some very lucky player that managed to build a Mega demon Combo. Elementals and Pirates are one of the slowest Combos to make happen but at the End of the Day BGs needs a lot of reworking and i understand that it is very hard to Balance BG without some minion type becoming powerful.

When you go for a certain minion, but never shows up until 40 refreshes later.

Luck based.

Elementals are slow not weak. They have a great scaling but its takes a while to get the minions.

Pirates do have good scaling but it’s a very high apm build.

Naga have excellent scaling from a few minions but if you dont get them early you will fail. 80% of their cards don’t offer enough scaling.

Well said. Playing with 40+ gold per turn by using Captain Hogger has been the biggest APM test I’ve ever seen in Hearthstone.

It doesn’t matter if they “balance” anything. BGs has become nothing but minion pool manipulation to reduce actual strategy and make things more highroll.

Almost every lobby has half the lobby succeeding with the one winning tribe where everyone manages to find multiple tripples of all key minions (banana slammers) meanwhile the other tribes you can roll for days on a tavern tier for a key minion of that tier and never find more than like 1 copy when no one else is even using that tribe or has that minion.

There is no real strategy anymore involved in the game it’s just hope you are the lucky one to highroll the winning tribe. Zero actual gameplay to be found in board composition to counter other players.

I feel BGs have entered a high roll period with all the power creep implemented with the current season, which is one of the reasons I’ve stepped away from HS entirely for a while. I officially can’t stand playing it right now. Both Standard and BGs.

All we can do is complain, Blizzard doesn’t give a rat’s a$$ about us and what we think so f it.

At least mechs are decent, far stronger than pirates and elementals.

Might just be me but I’m getting destroyed by Pirates or Elementals most of the time unless I can manage to live long enough to overpower them (Which is extremely rare) or cheese it with Leeroy/Toxic^^

I feel like most players that pick those that I encounter are very strong in the end. Pirates especially with the T4 minion with cleave damage.
