Pet parrot and mantle shaper

when i bring zilliax down to 1 mana sonya waterdancer picks it up as a 1 cost card.
but when i do the same with mantle shaper then pet parrot should do the same but it doesnt.
that should get fixed. thanks!

As any other card that looks at the past events of the game, pet parrot checks for the base stats of the cards you played
As any other card that looks at the present events of the game, Sonya checks the actual stats of the card you play
As far as I remember that’s the consistent behavior

i disagree. both cards read the same, and that is ‘a 1 cost card’.
why would one or the other cards mechanic work differently as you described it?

As Derkan said, the differentiation is that one looks at the present (Sonya) and one looks at the past (Pet Parrot). Cards that look to the past always go by base stats. Joymancer Jepetto and Galactic Projection Orb are two other examples of cards that work similarly to Pet Parrot and look to the past, and they will always use the base stats. Pip the Potent is an example of a card like Sonya, because it works based on the cost of cards currently in your hand (present).

Unfortunately the answer is just “because this is how it works”
Any card looking at a past events will only check the base version of a card
This is also why minions are resurrected/resummoned without their enchantments. That confused a lot of newer players when Pile of Bones got released

Simply remember that the game remembers the history of cards played, minions dead, but with no additional info
You can play a 1 mana boulderfist ogre with +3/+3 and spell damage hand buffed, all that the game will remember is that you played a boulderfist ogre
boulderfist ogre is a 6 mana 6/7, not a 1 cost card
