Pet Parrot and Freezing trap

Hello, I encountered a weird interaction with “Pet Parrot”,
I played against a secret hunter,
he played “freezing trap” and had some monster in his field.
So i played in the same turn “catch of the day” who took “freezing trap” and played after “Pet Parrot” in hope to have another “catch of the day” but “Pet Parrot” bring nothing on the field.
I don’t know if it’s an intended interaction or a bug, so i report it

do you have a replay?

no sorry, i didn’t record the game

I can confirm the bug
that’s because of the way the game checks at past and present events
We know that a card like Sonya can check the cost of cards that are played since she has a direct access to the cost of the card at the moment you play it.
But once a card has been played, or more specificaly once a minion has entered the board, its cost resets to the default one.
We’re used to cards like pet parrot to always check the base value of the card since it’s a past event that defaults to its base values.
But since the minion is bounced back in your hand, the parrot can access its cost directly and doesn’t have to default to the base value.
The card in your hand costs 3, that’s not a card that costs 1.
But if you then play that 3 mana 1-cost minion, pet parrot will check the value on the board (or in the past) and will see it was a 1 cost minion and will replay it.
