People are crazy not playing this deck, (Ysondre Warrior)

It’s literally just the cards given by the Devs to Warrior this Expansion only, without much experimentation (almost everything is common sense with the exception of Xavius who is also …sort of common sense).

I will give it a try, my hopes are not high though.

It’s really awesome. Focus on giving the eggs to Ysondre, but if it’s too early it’s not bad to use the eggs on a good deathrattle dragon of 4 or 5 cost.

Uh, this is the day one warrior deck.

Whatever it is it’s way better that the deck with the 1 dragon. That one is clunky as hell and half of the time nothing works so it’s super annoying to pilot it. This is a proper robust deck that gives you something good to play almost every turn and if it dies it doesn’t feel like it didn’t try.

I started getting the sense those very tight synergies of the Starcraft miniset do not exist only there and the collections of cards this expansion have similaries (especially for Warrior and Shaman and Hunter and maybe more).

There is some subtlety with what neutrals to use, but sometimes it’s too obvious like in the case of dragons or any Imbue or Dark Gift (lock).

It’s a decent list. I’ve been trying it out and have a few comments, and have made some adjustments.

2x Fae Trickster feels like too much since there’s only one spell it can pull, Shaladrassil. I cut it to one copy. I put in Ryecleaver in its place, as another way to get out the big burny bois. I’m a little undecided on that one, still testing it.

Siphoning Growth seems like complete overkill. Its only real function is to kill off eggs, but it’s a dead card if you don’t draw the location. There are plenty of other egg enablers, between eggbasher, and afflicted drake. I’m recommending Quality Assurance in its place. Two copies still seems justified because of how important the taunt minions in your deck are. Ysondre obviously, but it can also get the greenwings for good curve early and pull their summon-on-drawn copies. The armor doesn’t feel like a relevant payoff. If it does end up needed, I’d rather just go with Shield Block.

Card draw in general feels like where I struggle the most, I have only recently added QA so it’s still a little untested. But I’ve found that I ended up topdecking a lot. That may just be a perception bias as I’ve gone several games in a row never seeing dreadwings, but it’s a real result.

The tempo the deck can generate is significant though. It’s actually a pretty solidly midrange deck, odd as that may be in the format. It certainly isn’t aggro, but it can beat down the control decks faster than they can deal with the repeated boards.

I added 2 Brawl’s and had only one Fae Trickster but i dumped trickster because it just didn’t feel like it was helping even if you played it on turn 3. It can’t help remove the 4 cost Imbue Taunt and just sucks.

I dumped siphoning Growth also just didn’t do enough.

Early turns and card draw are issues.

I dumped shelyndrisil 7 cost spell. To buff it to get the good stuff was rare and to last a game at 8 -9 mana is just hard.

Brawls are nice if you got 2 eggs up though. I also threw in food fights for brawl also.

You roll right which is mostly never it works great but all the late game decks just over value what it can do. Since HS is the kind of game it is all the OP decks have early game, late game and combo all in one so this deck sucks but it is fun. I am stubborn and I love the dragon tribe so I play it D5 with like abysmal winrate.

Just go all in and embrace the Drake broken combo before it gets nerfed and play it out of DH if you want to be different from the Priests. Cliff dive is crazy OP with Drake.

There is no way the briarspawn drake interaction is intended. Back when cliff dive was first introduced you could draw factory assemblybot and it would do its end of turn summon a 6/7… but that was quickly patched out. So if assemlybot cant do its end of turn effect theres no way briarspawn drake should be able to do its end of turn effect before being dumped back into the deck.

Er… in my experience cliff dive has always allowed the end of turn effects to go off.

I just tested it and factorybot did actually trigger end of turn. I know it used to not because prior to the expansion I made a cliff dive deck that relied on that interaction and it stopped working. Guess thats more blizzard consistency.

Pretty sure shaman has the best cliff dive deck though.

I’ve moved on from that deck so my view of it is not too clear, but Fae Trickster x2 can make sense if it’s too critical to pull something. Bashing eggs is often extremely good so I’m not sure Siphoning Growth is bad.

I saw this the day you posted it and it helped me climb out of gutter diamond for a bit until i started versing real players (the deck was still good it just became finally time to switch)

This deck catches everyone off guard as there is not a single mirror match guarenteed in 10,000 games. Players know what you’re doing but they have no experience playing against it which is its biggest strength

The 1 mana discover dark gift demon guy is like my favorite card of this expansion he is VERY cool when he doesn’t hide at the bottom of the deck. Anything and everything he gives can and will change the tide of the game, especially briarspawn with charge.

It feels lightyears better and less clunky than the egg trash that was going around. Lol at netdecker including captains log at that time. I will say though this dragon warrior is dangerously draw dependent and i know most / all decks are but this one suffers greatly due to the super synergy of the deck. Its more synergistic than something like a protoss deck for xample.

Its brutal when the locations and low minions are at the bottom of deck.

Another note is ysondre can summon absolute garbage for you

That’s not what is OP and broken. What is OP is that the Drake can take lethal damage from it’s trigger going off and hitting a minion but the Cliff dive shuffle happens before it actually dies. Thus it stays in your deck to come again later after having already taken lethal damage.

I hate this interaction on multiple levels.

First, why does it get shuffled in? Whatever, maybe it shuffles in from the graveyard, but it should count as dying. It does not.

But mostly, why the F does the dragon end of turn trigger FIRST after Cliff Dives end of turn effect? Cliff Dive is played first…so it should go Cliff Dive shuffle, then Dragon end of turn trigger (but can’t because it is in deck). The fact the Dragon goes off 1st despite being the 2nd card in play annoys me.

I can easily tell how their Software Design does it. The end of turn of Cliff Dive is on a different layer than the end of turns that happen on the board so it resolves after the board and related to that: a minion may die but the layer of “they go back into the deck” considers it a given that it will make copies of those cards for certain.

I can not tell why they did that way but it may be a mistake and they may change it to let them die.

Sadly according to the advanced Rulebook it’s doing everything properly because Minions “End of Turn” effects are given first priority at the end of a turn. The problem is that checking for death happens after Cliff resolves because there’s no check for death step between.

I would advocate there be a step included in there since they had this figured out with the old Kel Resurrect effect but this one if a new situation.

Then again as i said before this set even released. That Drake is going to be in the game for TWO YEARS and there is no way it will not get broken. It took less than a month for multiple decks to do it and i am sure there will be more in future years. It needs addressed NOW.

Probably not a mistake…but

Yeah, I know why it happens…I just don’t like that it happens this way. Everything about it makes me mad lol

Well, it’s likely on some watch list for nerfs if not now, then in the future.

Other than the mini-set, I don’t think there will be many more dragons coming in future sets this year, so the consistency to pull this Drake out is going to stay the same for many decks.

It’s just a mega feels bad card. It’s the same as the Illidari Inquisitor on its release, and yet that thing still hasn’t been changed. Very annoying.

I just hate “charge” effects.

Me too. It’s also preventing the fix to the card. Just make the Drake something like 1-2 health and the OTK potential goes down greatly. The problem is that it would make it exclusive to DH at that point. So fix the triggered death and then drop it’s health down to not being survivable and a one shot bomb.

It’s basically Trample from MTG.

Just nerf it to excess damage hits adjacent minions instead. Hell, you can even give it rush.

Problem solved.
