The value from that stupid card in paladin is just not fun. You cant play for it in most decks. no interaction. And you get to watch the same thing 30 times. Nerf that card immediately.

I honestly think it’s being looked at for the patch next week. Broomstick too. Both of them are everywhere in both formats, and Blizzard generally doesn’t like that.
we know most of the changes for the patch already. if broom or pen flinger would have gotten nerfed it would have been done a long time ago already

Actually, they’ve suggested that some nerfs may be coming with the 20.0 patch as well.
From a couple weeks backs when they told us that they’d delayed a small planned balance patch:
Since the change(s) apparently target burst damage, Pen Flinger might be a possibility for getting hit. (So might Nitroboost Poison if the mistake in the decklist announcement actually showed numbers from the upcoming build.)

nitroboost and self-sharpening sword are both more likely candidates to get a nerf

Paladin? Have you played a rogue lately? Most toxic card they’ve released in a long time.
Paladin can (and has) been abusing Pen Flinger but yeah Rogue can be a lot more annoying with it. I can see it getting nerfed from either deck really.
That said if Nitroboost doesn’t go to two mana at least I am going to be so mad at Blizzard

Nah all they need to do with Pen Flinger is make it only 1 time use by changing the spellburst from return to hand to something like create a Pen card that’s a 1 mana deal 1 heck they could even make the pen a 0 mana card so its better initially but only 1 time use. For broom they just need to make it single target instead of AoE.

Pen Flinger at 2 mana sounds like a good nerf because I feel it’s still viable in combination with 0, 1 and other 2 mana spells.
Broom is fine, but you can up the mana cost IF… IF they have to do something imo. I don’t have a problem with it now. Anything with Rush is great as it helps you catch up and gain a bit of board back.
the thing is that making pen flinger 2 mana isnt a nerf, its outright making the card unplayable

Cards like Pen Flinger also show just how problematic 0 mana cards can be, the only reason the cards a problem is because Paladins have access to cards like Libram of Wisdom and Rogues with their arsenal of cheap spells.
But then you can’t just nerf every single cheap spell, so I agree a nerf to 2 Mana would be fair. Or at the extreme end make it only be able to target minions.

Nah. That’d be crap. Like, really really bad.
It’s rare for me to say this but I’d be perfectly fine with that. Turning every match it’s in into a math test for both players isn’t fun. I’d also be fine if they made it a 2/2 that does 2 damage for 2 just so there’s much fewer of them per turn
I don’t know if penflinger nerf will be necessary for standard as rotation is taking away some cheap cards, plus a lot of classic/basic burn. Is it also strong in wild?
