Peggy buffs not permanent with Gemsplitter

I was playing George and tried to combo Peggy Brittlebones together with Gemsplitter in an otherwise pirate warband.
The Peggy buffs caused by gems being added to your hand go away at the end of your combat.
Both are normally permanent effects.

A similar synergy between whelp smuggler and arm of the empire does provide permanent health buffs despite also occurring during combat.

All combat buffs are always temporary unless otherwise stated. Arm of the empire buffs are explicitly stated to be an exception. Whelp smuggler buffs given in combat shouldn’t be permanent however unless on Tarecgosa, so that’s the bug.
