Pay to win or overpowered?

So, I’m a new player and just got out of the apprentice phase. I was looking forward to make my way up from bronze 10, but then this happened:
My very first rated game: I encountered an opponent with some kind of spells that made his cards +10 attack and health. And not just one card but all cards on the deck. So within 4 rounds or so I got completely destroyed.
Game 2: I encountered a warrior (I thought) and midgame he drew a card and destroyed all my minions. 2 turns later I got destroyed again.

So, I’m wondering, are these pay to win opponents or a some decks just insanely overpowered? Knowing myself, if I keep playing and this happens a few more times I will throw my tablet against the wall xD
Was I just unlucky or is this what I should expect regulary? I play dragon druid btw.

In a meta there are usually some decks which are a bit stronger then other ones.

The current Warrior has alot of cards which focus on board control and can clear the board several times during a game.

Buffing his own minions is also part of it. Either by playing the “Blackrock ‘n’ Roll” spell or playing the Taunt archetype.

Playing a Dragon Druid against Warriors is generally a bad matchup. You need to develope a board and the Warrior can take that away from you quite easily.

As a Druid you can try to play Treants. With this deck you can flood the board very early, buff your minion and defeat the Warrior before he has enough mana and/or the cards to clear the board.

Thx for explaining. Any decks you suggest for a starting player?

If you are looking for a deck that has a good winrate and is also quite cheap to build then Libram Paladin is a good choice.

Zoo Hunter is a similar deck. Very fast, aggressive and cheap.

But I don’t know how much arcane dust there is at your disposal. Do you have a favorite class or playstyle? The decks above are fast and aggressive deck. Maybe you like the slower ones but they tend to be more expensive.

Thanks. Too be honest, I have no clue. I don’t even know what arcande dust is, I’m a fresh player. I will look into it. Thx for your advice, much appreciated.

If you go into your collection there is a little blue bottle in the right corner. There you can see your arcane dust.

You can use it to create cards. The higher the rarity of a card the more dust you need to create it.

If you open the link to one of the decks I posted above and you scroll down you see a number right below the last card of the deck. That’s the amount of dust you will need if you want to create the entire deck.
