Patch Notes on Thursday. Theotar is getting hit

Hopefully they just increase the mana to 5.
Stat decrease to 2/3 of the Wildseed cards I would assume.
Weapon Im pretty sure everyone can guess whats gonna happen…

Hitting Theo would be lazy as heck when cards like Denathrius still exist, so if they want to hit Theo then hopefully they hit everything else that needs it in the face of a weaker mad duke.

Soo,
Theotar to 5ish Mana, Stag Spirit to a 4/4 (don’t nerf the weapon to a 2/2, please), Bear to a 2/4 and Harpoon gun back to a -2 Mana reduction.

With Denathrius still existing, it won’t matter how much they nerf Theotar mana wise, he will still be your best defense against it that you could run.

Mana nerfs would just make him a losing play more often in more decks than he already is though.

He’s not a particularly strong card, he is just mega hated.

If they nerf his actual effect, then he would probably be abandoned, and druid can go back to using coldtooth mine to draw Denathrius on turn 2 100% of the time.

This is great. It’s long overdue!

You can never be too sure.
Knowing blizzard, it may become a 5 mana 3/2 that discounts by 5 mana

Are they seriously leaving denathrius as-is? What a joke

Right, and that’s the problem. I have no strong opinion on Theotar one way or another, but unless they deal with the cards that build up power in hand they really shouldn’t be touching Theo at all.

I’m not sure what they will do with Theotar will be interesting. Any nerf will make the card far less playable and probably auto included less so I welcome it.

Weapon probably will just be reverted. Doesn’t matter what the nerf is as long as it means no hydra turn 4.

Stag and bear probably the wrong card to hit, need to hit the summon 2 wild seed card.

When they give hunter the control warrior treatment, will the mage stans own it?

While these changes may make several decks more playable, it will still not fix any of the core problems in standard by a long shot.

We’ll see.
Hunter gets more than a slap, but I don’t see Rexxar going down into nothingness - aka Tier 3 or lower. A (probably) more costly Theotar would make it more akward as a counter to fast decks while still being very good against the two behemoths in the ring.
If that evens out the top (which, btw, already has 5-7 classes with positive win rates, what exactly are the not-fixed core problems?
Remember that there’s always a first violinist - and then there’s the one holding the triangle:

Hitting Theo and ignoring Denath is a mistake. Both deserved the bat.

Denathriasis.

Theo nerf will be that any card it will steal will revert to original stats ( so any mana reduction or infusion will not carry over when stolen ). Mana and stats of Theo will remain the same. Just a prediction obviously

Probably yeah. Although personally I’d rather see a nerf to the cards that summon the wild spirits then any nerfs to the spirits themselves.

I would rather see bran rotate and all the copy parrots nerfed into the ground.

As someone pointed of in the reddit thread, it would make the wildseeds easier to wipe out with a board clear, weakening the mechanic. But it’s still idle speculation.

Care for another cup, dear? :teapot: :tea:

LOL even if Theotar is 10 Mana I will still use it, because I have NO WAY to counter the real cancer denathrius.

Hmmmmm no mage nerfs and hunter is gonna get nuked lol. Should be interesting.

I would argue that Bran should probably even be hall of famed due to what having him and Sire has done to Wild. Theotar and the mage and shammy parrots all still can take a nerf bat.
