This patch is pretty meh for BG lol.
They nerfed a few of the outlier,which was to be expected because that is the least.
And then they added a ton of small and irrelevant changes. Just to make a big patch. There is still plenty of bad cards.
Like how can they add a 4 mana spell to get 2 random murlocs at tier 5. Thats equall to a tad at tier 2. It doesnt seem to make much sense to me.
A few of the other changes are also to small. And then a completely random buff to one single hero. While ignoring the other bad heroes.
Not impressed for now to say the least but will see how it plays out.
My initial reaction is I agree with nearly all these changes (some I would of hit even harder) and I think the meta is going to change a lot now.

Snake oil - disaster. What the actual …? Really? It’s been 0 mana for a year and NOW you nerf it? Because of what? 1 mana do 0 dmg are you for real? You literally only killed Sif mage with that, nothing else.

Forge of Wills - another mentally challenged nerf. So let’s see, we have a card over a year old, never problematic in itself, and we have a 4 mana summon a 9/9 with taunt and 2 mana resummon the 9/9 with taunt. What should we nerf? Aah, yes, the 1 year old card. That’s the problem. Right…surely?

I can’t believe they just nerfed Forge of Wills, a 3 mana location which by is a literal tempo loss, instead of hitting the Endgame. I have no idea what’s going on in their minds.
- they literally left shaman untouched. Not being able to 2x flash before turn 6 screws me up 1 in 100 games. Having to play 6 instead of 5 nature spells to make crash cost 0 screws me up 5 in 100 games, maybe 10, but it surely won’t cost me that many games.

Don’t wanna go too deep into it, but amazing patch, looking forward to play. Still scared of nature shaman being alive and kicking but if board play is back they could be slow enough to pop off before they die. Also Miracle Salesman has been a ridiculously good 1-drop for long enough, I won’t miss it; and it also hits nature shaman right? Can’t remember if they were running it or not. Can pirate rogue become playable with these 3 buffs? Questionable, but I wanna try.
Also no Helya nerf but it’s now utterly irrelevant so I couldn’t be happier, will see much less of it. We’ve needed patches like this for a while. For better or for worse, the meta is going to change completely, which is very much needed.
I mean, every deck in the game was running it. If it wasn’t, you were playing a meme-tier deck. Yes, Nature Shaman was running it, and will continue running it, because we use it mainly for card draw, it’s not like we lack the damage.
I’ll tell you who DOES lack the damage, though - Sif Mage has been completely deleted by this one change. Why in the world would you nerf the only skill-intensive, completely balanced OTK deck and basically leave Shaman unscathed?
Sure, Shaman’s board control will suffer now, which means you have to be better at planning if your next turns are going to be control or preparation for OTK, but other than that, the pop-off turns will still be the same. You don’t have an OTK if you haven’t played 6 spells before you play Crash anyway, and flash can cost 8 mana as far as it does its’ job the following turn.
With all the other classes directly or indirectly nerfed, Shaman will be even more of a problem than it was until now.

Warrior’s only really bad match up just got eliminated, so I guess blizzard thinks that will make everything balanced again.

Yeah that’s why I am uncertain whether these will be impactful enough to matter. It’s still 3 nerfs in total tho, so for sure there is something. I guess we’ll see, I think its success will hinge on how successful other board-based decks are at killing you before turn 6-7. Anyways, I haven’t played for a while so I don’t expect to leave noobie ranks for a little bit. I won’t be seeing much of it for now anyways.
True. I was being too liberal with my predictions. We have no clue which decks are gonna dominate now.
I can just guarantee which ones won’t - pally and hunter are still unplayable.

I like the changes so far hopefully pirate rogue can be decent now. Always enjoyed rogue but this season every good deck they have is a gimmick so maybe I’ll be able to play some real Hearthstone after this.
To be fair, Brann warrior has eaten quite a few nerfs overall. I don’t think it’s very clear how things are going to shape up.

I have to say im ok with the change to Zarimi to only increase the dragon requisite,i feared a mana increase like the lunatics in the forums wanted.
I like the change to Fly of the shelves, nice of Priest to get something back to offset the Zarimi change.

Reno Warrior got a tiny nerf in that you can’t do Boomboss/Gaslight anymore. The buff (and it is definitely a buff) to Brann totally makes up for it though, and did they really think barely hitting Sanitize without dealing with the insane armor gain and all of the other AOE removal warrior has will do anything?
Flash of lightning to 3. Wow. Really? Its not as if it matters if FoL is 1, 2 or 4 mana. What matters is you win the game the turn after.
