Paladin counter

Help me out guys, I’m honestly out of ideas. Is there any tech, counter, anything that can reliably beat Paladin? And I don’t mean another Paladin because that’s a 50/50.
I know that Rush Warrior supposedly beats them more often than not, but it does poorly against almost all of the other decks.
I feel like there’s no way whatsoever to consistently predict how to outplay them, if I go for a mulligan with any deck that may be decent hopefully against Aggro Paladin, it almost always turns out they play Libram Paladin. And vice versa. I’m not here to cry about “OP Paladin pls nerf”, but I need something to know that I can have even just a sliver of hope beating them.
I’m stuck at Rank 3 Diamond and can’t proggress any further thanks to Paladins beating my behind every second game.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Only weakness I can discern is that they no longer seem to run consecration. So going wide against them might be best option. So that would be token druid or something similar. But even that is not easy with paladins OMYogg and FDoS, which usually brings unexpected results.

Spell mage works really well against them. At least for me anyhow.

Priest and Rush Warrior seem to be your best bets against Aggro, also those can do well against Secret versions, while Spell Mage does very well against those decks.

You would be an anomaly then.

The only red matchup for paladin is rush warrior.

so people run paladin without secrets ?

ive been checking and its seems all paladin deck types run secrets

I’ve been seeing more libram paladin lately but even they run a few secrets. They usually don’t have near as many as the other decks. I typically only see Oh My Yogg! Sometimes Galloping Savior just because it puts another body on the field to buff (or forces the opponent to play slower).

They used to have that variant before the nerfs but with crabridder gone i really don’t see why to use it anymore.

Ok, so just now I switched out my Ooze for Horde Operative, and it immediately won me my next game against Paladin. Damn, never thought it’d be this strong of a counter!

Rush Warrior does decent against all Paladin decks it might be your best bet it does however badly against control so Warlock and Priest will be hard.

Dont listen to people recomending Spell Mage any of the current decks have around 70% win rate against Mage its 1 of the class best matchups by far right now.

I seem to do better when when I tech in two silence sigils into my DH deathrattle deck. It doesn’t even have deathspeaker, but it wins often enough against pally.

token druid work fine …

Just rope your opponent and hopefully they give up

or not

I’ve been destroying Paladins with shaman. But then I lose to mages and warlocks, so I dont recommend it.

I have found employing the old school anti shaman strategy to work wonders.

Keep their minions off the field and you’ll find it ridiculously easy to defeat them.

Having said that , OMY drives me to drink, it’s always either in their opening hand or the first secret pulled by the weapon so that first minion 9/10 times survives your removal and gets buffed.

I once had my renew turn into a pally secret so it was so satisfying beating them with their own tools.

This is overly specific. It’s an extrapolation of “if you build stronger tempo than Paladin, they cry.” The reason a Paladin would think to include Consecration is to regain lost tempo / keep tempo secure. Paladin struggles when it can’t get minions to stick to the board.

Clown Priest easy.
Bait for a couple of turns until they buff minions, then clear and heal. Coin/raise dead/apotheosis on yoggs, you hardly ever play 3 cards in a turn, rush minions and taunts , hysteria …

Yup, but for you to be able to keep the board minion free, you need a lot of removals which in turn may compromise other matchups. Still, I think I found a way to raise my general winrate by switching out Combustion to Firebrand in my Mage deck, the latter often does exactly what the former, but you also get a lead on the board.

Yeah.
If you play a mage deck with minions firebrand is really better.
